My sister is computer illiterate and a ways away. She is having a problem with her computer where a window pops up after boot up that has something to do with caswnd. The computer then locks up and she can not do anything, she has to perform a hard shutdown. I was wondering if the CASWND problem can be resolved by formatting the computer and reinstalling windows?

Any advice or help would be appreciated. If I was there, I would run all of the diagnostic tools to try and rid the computer of it, but right now the easiest approach would be appreciated.
