hi, i was using partition magic to resize my other hds clusters it was 564 bytes i changed to 64kb well i left around 50% data change.i come back 30mins later to find it at the restart screen with a ATAPI incompatible - press f1 to resume screen

should of just get a new hd?my warrenty is still active for 2years...although i just got this 2weeks ago.not sure what happened to it, it did the resize fine for about 4hours then suddenly shuts off when i leave heh

Does Windows load normally after you press F1? If it does, the 'atapi incompatible' message refers to the cd-rom drive on your PC. I've seen exactly the same thing on a friends PC with an old Cd-rom drive, but press F1 and everything works fine, including the cd drive. never did figure out how to stop the PC from pausing and asking you to press F1.
He just had to live with it.

it wouldnt even start i even tryed to boot it on other hd and reinstall/reformat it, i guess it was esd - my 15 day warrenty was 1 day overdue but it got replaced for free anyway, go office max!
