Hi first time posting here, my computer is running slower then usual, I have ran mcafree,adawere,avast and havent come up with anything. i was hopeing oyu all could help. heres my hjt log.beside the scans i dont know what i would be looking for.

also i forgot to mention that it takes anywhere from 5-30 min for computer to log off it stays on the "logging off windows"screen its all stated when i got windows update. i took off mcafee i tohught maybe that was what the problem was.

So it just kind of hangs at the Shutdown stage ?? No errors ???


Well one of the isues with your earlier log was that you had both Avast and McAfee running on it. Conflicts can arise between multiple anti-virus programs and can severely hamper the performance of the PC.



Run Hijack This and click on scan. The following items need to be fixed -

O18 - Protocol: msnim - {828030A1-22C1-4009-854F-8E305202313F} - "C:\PROGRA~1\MSNMES~1\msgrapp.dll" (file missing)

Close all windows other than Hijack This. Check the boxes next to above items and click on Fix checked.

Please visit Panda and do an online scan. Save the scan report.

Run Hijack This and post a fresh HJT log along with Panda scan report.

I couldnt run Panda Avast said a virus was found while it was downloading active x. yes my pc hangs on at the log out and I had just recently got the mcafee but took it off because i didnt know if that was what was doing it. sad to say its still doing it. also this is weird but the processes that show up in HJT are only some that are running on my comp?

So Avast finds a scan file as a virus !!!!!!!!! lol

There are three other scan listed in my signature at the bottom of this message. Please do one of the scans.

Regarding the processes running, Hijack This does not list all the processes !!! It does not list all the system processes. That is ok.

Anyway, Spybot has given indication of one infection. Lets fix that first.


Download smitRem.exe and save the file to your desktop.
Double click on the file to extract it to it's own folder on the desktop.

Next, please reboot your computer in SafeMode by doing the following:

• Restart your computer
• After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
• Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
• Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

Open the smitRem folder, then double click the RunThis.bat file to start the tool. Follow the prompts on screen.
Wait for the tool to complete and disk cleanup to finish.

The tool will create a log named smitfiles.txt in the root of your drive, eg; Local Disk C: or partition where your operating system is installed. Please post that log along with all others requested in your next reply.

Next go to Control Panel click Display > Desktop > Customize Desktop > Web > Uncheck "Security Info" if present.

Reboot back into Windows and do an online scan at one of the above websites.

i did the housecall scan and it found ALOT of troj's but how the heck can you make a log file i cant figure it out. hopefully your on and can help me with that.

I just did a scan at Housecall.

It scan and at the end of it it gives a scan summary. You can copy the entire text and paste in into a text file to save it.

If all the files / sources identified were similar to the ones identified by Bitdefender, then we will tackle these at the end.

System Restore is a facility whereby, the settings on your PC are saved on certain events. The bad part is that even the infections get saved along with the required and necessary stuff. We can delete all the earlier system restore points to get rid of these "saved" infections. However it is best to do the purging of old system restore points at the end. In case anything goes wrong with the fix, then earlier system restore points wont be available to recover the PC.

Your logs look fine otherwise.

Do you have any issues with your PC ?? If not then we can start the final steps

everything else is ok but i'd like to get rid of those troj and that worm. I ran microsoft antispyware and it did pick up all the trogins and that worm and sidekick something not sure if there all gone off my computer though.
