I am requesting help concerning a problem I have with a computer at work. I have recently just started working for an organization and they have been having serious computer problems prior to my start. For the past few months, their computer has randomly rebooted for no reason. Sometimes it will run all day without rebooting, sometimes it will reboot 10 times a day. It does not appear to make any difference whether 1 program of 5 programs are running at the time of the crash. I have run all of the spyware/malware programs requested in the instructions for posting to this site and still have the problem.

I am running a Gateway computer, Pentium 4, 2.4 Ghz with 512 MB of RAM, Windows XP Home edition, sp2. The problem may be hardware related, but I would like someone to comment on my hijackthis.log to assist me in determining if it also might be software related.

At startup I receive the following error message "Error loading: C:\PROGRA~1\MYWEBS~1\bar\1.bin\F3SCRCTR.DLL". I believe this is related to the MyWebSearch toolbar. They were having trouble with the system rebooting for weeks prior to receiving this message, so I don't think this is the only problem with the system.

I have posted my hijackthis.log and scan report from Ewido below. Any assistance that someone could give me concerning this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Start--> Control Panel--> Add or Remove Programs--> Uninstall (if found) any instances of:
Anything of: MyWebSearch

Then reboot your computer.

Scan again with HijackThis and check the following items:

F3 - REG:win.ini: load=
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [KernelFaultCheck] %systemroot%\system32\dumprep 0 -k
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [PopularScreensaversWallpaper] rundll32 C:\PROGRA~1\MYWEBS~1\bar\1.bin\F3SCRCTR.DLL,LES
O16 - DPF: {739E8D90-2F4C-43AD-A1B8-66C356FCEA35} (RunExeActiveX.RunExe) - hcp://system/RunExeActiveX.CAB

After checking these items, close all browser windows except HijackThis and click "Fix checked".

Make sure all hidden files and folders are visible (Instructions )
Reboot your computer into safe mode (Instructions)

Find and delete this folder (if it is still there):
C:\Program Files\MyWebSearch <= this folder

Reboot your computer back into normal mode.
