[INACTIVE] Incredibly slow computer

I have recently noticed that my computer has started being incredibly slow. I'm concerned about adware and spyware on it. However, if it doesn't have any adware or spyware, then I'm not concerned and I'm fine with it. Thank you and here is my log.

Hi, Funnybunny645,
Your log looks pretty good except for a couple of things.

You did not mention running any scans.
Let's do a bit of cleaning...

Download: CCleaner

Once installed, launch CCleaner:
Do not change any settings, except to make sure on the Options tab>Advanced "Only delete files in Windows Temp folders older than 48 hours" is NOT checked.
Click Run Cleaner (bottom right). When finished> Exit (top right) (reboot)

Please print these instructions so you can refer to them easily.

Please run the following scans (If you already have Ad-aware and Spybot make sure they are updated. If you are not using Spybot 1.4, please post back here before removing 1.3 and I will let you know how to remove your old version.)

Ad-aware *
Download Ad-aware version SE Personal 1.06 from here:
Download from:
Install by double-clicking on the downloaded file.
If you have a previous version of Ad-Aware installed, during the installation of the new version you will be prompted to uninstall or keep the older version - be sure to uninstall the previous version.After installing Ad-aware, you will be prompted to update the program and run a full scan. De-select all boxes so that it does not run. If you already have Ad-aware Second Edition skip to the next step.
Manually run "Ad-Aware SE Personal" and from the main screen Click on "Check for Updates Now".
Click the 'Connect'-button and, if there are new updates, click 'OK' and then 'Finish'.
Once the definitions have been updated:
Do NOT scan with the program yet.
Please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by immediately tapping the F8 key (or F5 on some computers)
Use the arrow keys to highlight Safe Mode and press the Enter key.
Once in Safe Mode, launch Ad-Aware, and press Start > Next to let it scan your drives...
It will find a number of "bad" files and registry keys. Press 'Next'
Right-click in that results pane and choose "select all"
Press "Next" again
It will ask you whether you'd like to remove all checked items. Click OK.
Finally, close Ad-Aware, and start your computer normally.

Spybot S&D*
Download Spybot S&D 1.4 here:

Install by double-clicking on the downloaded file.
Run Spybot S&D from desktop icon or Start menu.
Press "Search for updates" button to get list of updates available.
Press "Download updates" button.
Close all IE windows and close & restart Spybot S&D.
Press "Check for problems" button.
Have SpyBot remove all it marks in RED by pressing "Fix selected problems".
Close Spybot S&D, reboot your system.

We cannot use HijackThis until it is moved to a better location where it can save backups.
Rightclick on an empty space on your desktop and choose New > Folder
Name it HijackThis (HJT, or whatever)
Rightclick HijackThis.exe, choose Cut.
Doubleclick (to open) the folder you created.
Rightclick inside and choose Paste.

Please do an online virus scan with Panda ActiveScan Here. You need to use Internet Explorer for this scan.
  • Once you get to the Panda site, scroll down a bit and click on Scan your PC
  • A new window will appear; click on Check Now!
  • A new window will appear; fill in the boxes (Country, State, email addy)
  • Click on Scan Now! >
    If you have never used ActiveScan before, you will be prompted to install an ActiveX control (asinst.cab) : click on Install. Panda will install the component, and then install the latest signature files.
  • From "Select a device to scan...", choose "My Computer"
  • Allow the scan to run. It'll take a while.
  • When complete, click on "See Report", and then on "Save report"; save it to a convenient location.
  • Please post that report in your next reply. Simply open the text file, then copy/paste the content here.
    Also, please include a fresh HJT log so we can continue cleaning. Thanks!
