Ok, I'm also afflicted with the gentle, loving "ad.yeildmanager" adware.

I wouldn't be posting if I hadn't have used all the results I could find here
and elsewhere online. I've tried the exact steps directed to others with this same
issue and they just won't remove it. I did the CleanUp!/Ewido thing to no avail..

According to HJT I'm good after they're done, but the pop-ups just keep poppin'.

Here's the log. Help me before I kill again! :tazz:

(I'm on a laptop so there's a lot of wierd Toshiba things on there..)

Welcome to GTG.

We advise that users do not follow instructions posted for another user because each user's log will most likely be a little different.

That's not the whole HijackThis log. Please do a Select All for that hijackthis.log file and copy it here.

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should 'not' have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below.

Go to My Computer->Tools->Folder Options->View tab:
* Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders.
* Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
* Click Yes to confirm and then click OK.

For the options that you checked/enabled earlier, you may uncheck them after your log is clean. If we ask you to fix a program that you use or want to keep, please post back saying that (we don't know every program that exists, so we may tell you to delete a program that we think is bad to keep).

Make sure you downloaded, installed, updated and ran these programs (run in Safe Mode) already - Ad-aware, Spybot and Ewido. If you didn't, do them now. For more information, go to http://www.greyknigh...com/spyware.htm

Restart your computer and boot into Safe Mode by hitting the F8 key repeatedly until a menu shows up (and choose Safe Mode from the list). In some systems, this may be the F5 key, so try that if F8 doesn't work. Make sure to close any open browsers. Run a scan in HijackThis. Check each of the following and hit 'Fix checked' (after checking them) if they still exist (make sure not to miss any):

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {F6CD8DB2-1D25-4CA6-7756-47C16959169B} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\ppfemrcr.dll (file missing)
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Vzmes] C:\WINDOWS\system32\l?[bleep].exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Eprc] C:\Program Files\twen\coea.exe

Delete the following Files/Folders (delete folders if no filename is specified) according to their directory (if none, just do a search for them) and delete them if they exist:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\ppfemrcr.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\l?[bleep].exe - no easy way to do this, but take a look at the system32 folder and look for all the files begining with the letter L followed by some a few other letters. It should be created recently. If you need help, just give me the filenames for them and I will take a look at it.
C:\Program Files\twen\

Restart and run BOTH these scans:

Run an online virus scan at TrendMicro http://uk.trendmicro...call_launch.php. Just follow the instructions on the site to run the free online scan. If any viruses/trojans are detected, try to delete or clean them in that site. If any are not cleanable, copy and paste the infected files here. You may also use Panda ActiveScan at http://www.pandasoft...ucts/activescan. Post the log from the Panda scan here.

Restart and run a new HijackThis scan. Save the log file and post it here.

Ok, I followed the steps to a tee and it appears that I'm infected with "Twain-Tech".

The ads are still popping up, but it's clear what the cause is now it seems.. I also notice
that the RXToolbar and Bleep has survived as well. I was unable to locate the bleep file.

Here's the Panda log (excessive spacing removed):

Do you know what the real name of that bleep file is called? Or is it edited out by the forum here? If you know the full name, give it to me. We'll delete it.

Did you run Ad-aware and Spybot yet? If not, download and install them. Check for updates and run their scans in Safe Mode.

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should 'not' have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below.

O2 - BHO: RXResultTracker Class - {59879FA4-4790-461c-A1CC-4EC4DE4CA483} - C:\Program Files\RXToolBar\sfcont.dll (file missing)
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Vzmes] C:\WINDOWS\system32\l?[bleep].exe
O18 - Filter: text/html - {2AB289AE-4B90-4281-B2AE-1F4BB034B647} - C:\Program Files\RXToolBar\sfcont.dll

Delete the following Files/Folders (delete folders if no filename is specified) according to their directory (if none, just do a search for them) and delete them if they exist:

C:\Program Files\RXToolBar\
C:\WINDOWS\system32\l?[bleep].exe
C:\WINDOWS\smdat32m.sys

Run Ewido scan and save the log.

Restart and run a new HijackThis scan. Save the log file and post it here along with the Ewido log.

Was that "bleep" file located and deleted? Just curious, did it have a foul word in that filename?

Run Ewido scan and fix whatever it finds. Save the log.

Make sure to close any open browsers. Run a scan in HijackThis. Check each of the following and hit 'Fix checked' (after checking them) if they still exist (make sure not to miss any):

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Eprc] C:\Program Files\twen\coea.exe

Download KillBox http://www.greyknigh...spy/KillBox.exe. Run KillBox and check the box that says 'End Explorer Shell While Killing File'. Next click on 'Delete on Reboot'. Copy the below files and go back to KillBox. Go to File->Paste from Clipboard and then hit the button with a red circle and white X. Confirm to delete and when asked if you want to reboot, say Yes:

C:\Program Files\twen\coea.exe
C:\Program Files\twen\

If you get a PendingOperations message, just close it out and restart your computer manually.

Restart and run a new HijackThis scan. Save the log file and post it here along with the Ewido log.

The "bleep" file had the other word for a donkey in the file name.

Gotcha :tazz: I figured it was a filtered out word.

Yep, you are correct...

Your log is clean.

To help prevent future spyware installations/infections, please read the Anti-Spyware Tutorial and use the tools provided.

Are there any problems now? If not, you should be set to go.
