Hi I installed a new hard drive in my hp pavilion n5440. It is a F2332-69003 30gb. I verified that my BIOS will handle this hard drive. I installed the drive into my computer and I hear it spin when I start it up. I inserted my Win xp cd to install it and it comes to a screen to install windows xp on the partition you selected......However this disk does not contain a windows xp compatible partition. So I can't install Windows XP. And it won't let me create a new partition. Any help or ideas of how to install windows xp????

Thanks so much!!

Hi there

Follow this link and download the Windows XP System setup disk (single floppy disk) :
http://freepctech.co.../files010.shtml

If you boot from the floppy, it will give you options to partition using fdisk & format the drive prior to installing XP.
