I am using XP Professional. When I try to boot computer normally, it just shuts back down. I found out from experimenting with boot process it will boot up in VGA mode. If I I go to safemode and try to change display settings, it will shutdown and restart. If I have a hardware problem or something else, please help me. Thank you!

I would go into Setup and check very thoroughly what your settings are.

Well what setup are you referring to? You mean as computer boots.

YOu don't by chance have a video card that you purchased plugged into an AGP or PCI slot do you? Because if you do, it is most likely that your video card has gone bad. Try taking that card out and plugging it into the onboard video slot and see what happens.
