You are running HiJackThis from the Desktop. HiJackThis needs to be placed in a folder before we can continue.

Please make a folder on your desktop and call it HiJackThis.

Then move HiJackThis.exe into that folder.

We need to disable Spysweeper for the duarion of this fix. Spysweeper is a GREAT antispyware program but it might get in the way of our fix. Make sure to turn it back on when we are done!

* Open it click >Options over to the left then >Program Options >Uncheck "load at windows startup".
* Over to the left click "shields" and uncheck all there.
* Uncheck "home page shield".
* Uncheck "automatically restore default without notification

Once you do the above, please post a new HiJackThis log for me to look at. (you will not have noticed any change, I just need to make sure the above is complete before we can continue)

• After you have fixed these items, close Hijackthis and Press any key to Force a reboot of your computer.
• Pressing any key will cause a "Blue Screen of Death" this is normal, do not worry!
• Once your machine reboots please continue with the instructions below.

Download and install CleanUp!

Open Cleanup! by double-clicking the icon on your desktop (or from the Start > All Programs menu).
Set the program up as follows:
Click "Options..."
Move the arrow down to "Custom CleanUp!"
Put a check next to the following (Make sure nothing else is checked!):

• Empty Recycle Bins
• Delete Cookies
• Delete Prefetch files
• Cleanup! All Users

Click OK
Press the CleanUp! button to start the program.

It may ask you to reboot at the end, click NO.

Then, please run this online virus scan: ActiveScan

Copy the results of the ActiveScan and paste them here along with a new HiJackThis log and the vundofix.txt file from the vundofix folder into this topic.

I did everything you said...but in the HiJackThis scan...I didn't find:

Also...after pressing the "Fix Checked" it deleted the others and a pop up error box came on. It said: Unexpected error occured! Error #52(Bad file name or number) in Sub GetLongPath (exe".exe). Please send a report to [email protected]

Next, please close all programs except for HiJackThis, and select Fix Checked.
Reboot your computer and boot into safe mode.

To boot into safe mode turn your computer on and press f8, continiously, until a menu appears. At this menu please select safemode

Once in safe mode please open Add/Remove ProgramsClick on Start
Select Control Panel
Select Add/Remove Programs
Please delete the following files from Add/Remove Programs.

Winfixer Installer (look for something that looks like that)

Please note any programs that you do not recognize in Add/Remove programs and list them in your next reply.
Close Add/Remove Programs

Next, open Windows Explorer. The easiest way to do this is:Click Start
Select Run
Type in Explorer

I went on Safe Mode and went to Add/Remove Programs and I didn't find any Winfixer Installer or anything that's similiar...and here are the programs I didn't recognize and they were just available to Remove:
