Hi - I'm reallly stupid when it comes to computers so please excuse me ahead of time! Anyway, my computer hangs ALOT! I did figure out that it's from the ybrowser. I use XP with DSL. I'm sure there are other things you need to know, but I really don't know what else to tell you at this point. Can anyone who is VERY patient help me???? Please????

Thanks,
Karen

shelties1, Welcome to Geekstogo. My name is EMCguy, and I'll try to help you with your problem. :tazz:

Two questions:

When did this start happening?

Have you installed any programs recently?

Best regards,

The Ybrowser is not NECESSARY. Do you have the same issue with other browsers? Are you using the latest version of the Ybrowser? The Ybrowser is just a skin of Internet Explorer. Have you updated winxp recently?
You may want to consider using firefox for your internet browsing.

This has been happening for quite awhile. I cleaned out some old files and did a defrag trying to empty up some space. It didn't help. I haven't installed any new programs. I've always used ybrowser just because I use Yahoo email. Sorry to sound so dumb :tazz:

Thanks to everyone trying to help me!

shelties1, some more questions for you.

What version/servicepack of XP are you using?

What programs do you use to keep viruses/spyware/malware off your computer?

Best regards,

EMCguy

I have WinXP Service Pack 1. I tried to download SP2, but it wouldn't work. I use Zone Labs for viruses, etc.

Any ideas?????

shelties1, more questions for you.

Do you have any other browswers installed that you could try?

Do those browsers also have similar problems.

You say your computer hangs. Describe the hangs in more detail.

Do you get any blue error screens? If so, what numbers do they report?

Best regards,

EMCguy
