Here is my problem...I really am a newbie with all this computer stuff. I know a little bit. My ex was a complete nerd when it came to comps, so everything I do know I learned from him.

I know more about hardware then about software. I can build a computer (I know where everything goes lol) but I don't know good vs. bad products. I don't know what parts work well with others. (I bought the wrong ram for instance  )

The big problem is, my system was custom (Compaq Desktop) but my ex did mod things for me to help make my system faster, better, etc. I know I have a new motherboard (don't know which one) and new video card (don't know which one) lol.

I think what I need is a faster CD Rom or hard drive and I know I have a lot of ram but just not a fast speed. (? forgive me if I sound like a moron lol)

I also have no idea what speeds I'm running at.

I've tried everything I can think of to try to make my computer faster (except for OCing because I'm scurred lol). I don't have the money to buy anything to help speed my PC right now, but I would like to learn more about what I have now and if there is anything I can do to temporarily fix it (until I can upgrade). I also would like to learn about what products I could buy to make my PC better.

 ;) :tazz: <wishing I paid more attention when my ex was trying to teach me about this stuff> lol

Thanks in advance everyone. Have a Merry Christmas!
