Winfixer Popups, Etc. [RESOLVED]

I am getting Winfixer popups whenever I use Internet Explorer. When using the Avant browser I do not get the popups.
Also, CWShredder finds VSX.LOok2Me, and says that it removed it, but when I reboot, and scan again it is still there.
Also, TrojanHunter finds "HTML Coolweb.A", and 2 files called "JAVA Bytever.A" but can not clean or delete them.

I have tried all of your required steps to try to solve these problems.

Welcome to GTG.

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should 'not' have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below.

Click on Start->Settings->Control Panel->Java Plug-in and click on the Cache tab. Then click on the Clear button and hit OK.

Please download VundoFix.exe at http://www.atribune....ds/VundoFix.exe to your desktop.

* Double-click VundoFix.exe to extract the files.
* After the files are extracted, please reboot your computer into Safe Mode. You can do this by restarting your computer and continually tapping the F8 key (or F5 in some machines) until a menu appears. Use your up arrow key to highlight Safe Mode then hit enter.
* Once in safe mode open the VundoFix folder and doubleclick on KillVundo.bat
* Please type the following file path (make sure to enter it exactly as below!):

C:\WINDOWS\system32\pmnll.dll

* Press Enter, then press the F6 key, then press Enter one more time to continue with the fix.
* When asked for the second path, type this in -> C:\WINDOWS\system32\llnmp.*
* The fix will run then HijackThis will open.
* In HijackThis, please place a check next to the following items and click FIX CHECKED:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Window Title = Welcome Audio [bleep] - unless you changed this...fix it

Download and install CleanUp! http://www.greyknigh...spy/CleanUp.exe

Open Cleanup! by double-clicking the icon on your desktop (or from the Start > All Programs menu).
Set the program up as follows:
Click 'Options...'
Move the arrow down to 'Custom CleanUp!'
Put a check next to the following (Make sure nothing else is checked!):

* Empty Recycle Bins
* Delete Cookies
* Delete Prefetch files
* Cleanup! All Users

Click OK. Press the CleanUp! button to start the program.
It may ask you to reboot at the end, click NO.

Then, please run an online virus scan at ActiveScan http://www.pandasoft.../activescan.htm

Copy the results of the ActiveScan and paste them here along with a new HijackThis log and the vundofix.txt file from the vundofix folder into this topic.

First of all, thanks for such a quick reply.

The ActiveScan found a Spyware file and an Adware file that it did not disinfect.
Should I be concerned that ActiveScan found some viruses and spyware? I run Norton Antivirus 2005, and various spyware programs.

What should I do about the non-disinfected files?

Yes, we'll remove them now.

Click on Start->Settings->Control Panel->Java Plug-in and click on the Cache tab. Then click on the Clear button and hit OK.

For the searchcentrix part, that's a minor problem. We can leave it. If you want, see if Spybot S&D can find and remove it. But it's really not a big problem.

Your log is clean.

To help prevent future spyware installations/infections, please read the Anti-Spyware Tutorial and use the tools provided.

Are there any problems now? If not, you should be set to go.
