Welcome to GTG.

Please read the first link in my signature and follow the steps outlined there. You must install XP SP1a (hold off on SP2 until your computer is clean). Without SP1a, you are wide open to re-infection. When you are ready, post a new HijackThis log here.

How about installing Service Pack 1a? You must install that before I can proceed any further. Without that update, you are wide open to reinfection and will be returning back here shortly (which we both don't want :tazz:). So install it first and when done, restart and post a new HijackThis log.

See if you can download the whole SP1a install file here and install it. If you get the same problem, reply back here.

You have a fast internet connection right? It's a big file and will take a while to download if you don't have high speed internet.

OK, I don't want to hold you any longer for the fix. So while downloading, I want you to do this:

Please go HERE (Microsoft website) using Internet Explorer (not Firefox or any other browser as they won't work)
  • Click on Windows Validation Assistant
  • Click on the Validate Now button.
  • Be patient while the ActiveX loads, do not click on any links.
  • Read the instructions on this page while it's loading. You will be prompted to install - click YES.
  • Enter your product key then click continue
  • When it says "Validation Complete" please click Continue to return to your previous activity
  • Copy what it says and paste it here.

Sorry, we can't help you out with that. We only help those with a legal Windows version.

My suggestions is to get a legal copy and then install it on your computer so next time if you do run into problems again, you can come back here for assistance.
