First, thanks for your help. I have downloaded all the spyware sweepers and blockers. When running the a-squared online Malware checker, it said I had the Verundo... issue. It listed the following dll files: binvss.dll and gebcc.dll I already have downloaded the Verundo.exe file to my desktop. I just wanted a pro to check my hijackthis log to guide me on what to remove. Also, is this causing the WinFixer to popup and try to download? I've successfully headed it off, but it keeps popping up and is annoying.

PS, What is the standard donation? I certainly want to contribute so you can continue your service.

For the fix to run successfully, we need to turn off some of your protective services.

Right click on the Winpatrol icon on your taskbar and uncheck "Always run Winpatrol" and then choose "Exit Program"

Right click on the Spywareguard icon on your taskbar. Under Options tab uncheck all 3 items, click on "Save Settings" and then exit Spywareguard.

Go to Start > Run and type "Services.msc" (without quotes) then hit Ok
Scroll down and find the below service:

ScriptBlocking Service (SBService)

When you find it, double-click on it. In the next window that opens, under the General tab click the Stop button, then click the drop-down box to change the Startup Type to Disabled. Now hit Apply and then Ok.

Please print these instructions out for use in Safe Mode.

Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.

• Double-click VundoFix.exe to extract the files
• This will create a VundoFix folder on your desktop.
• After the files are extracted, please reboot your computer into Safe Mode. You can do this by restarting your computer and continually tapping the F8 key until a menu appears. Use your up arrow key to highlight Safe Mode then hit enter.

There's nothing to be worried about the Panda log. It found a trojan and disinfected it. The other one is an orphaned leftover Gator entry in your registry. We all have many such entries in our registries from uninstalls or after removing spyware programs etc., nothing to worry about.

However, there are two items in your HijackThis log referring to Partypoker. It may be that you are a poker player and have installed the program yourself. It may also be the case that it often gets installed by malware.

If you don't want Partypoker on your computer, do the following. If you're using the program then do nothing.

Open HijackThis and click Scan. Put a check next to these:

Close all other windows except HijackThis and click Fix Checked

Then go to Control Panel Add/Remove Programs and uninstall Partypoker.

Great. The pop-ups are gone. The only other thing that started a few days ago is when I login to Windows, I'll get a pop-up saying it can't connect to the internet and it asks if I want to Try Again or continue working offline. I X out the box, but when I connect to Compuserve (dial-up), it does the same thing. If I say work offline, it won't show any pages (I can open/use Netscape Navigator). If I say Try Again, it will do fine. Is this something I should be concerned with. Again, many thanks and I will definitely be making a donation.

I'm not a Windows expert so it's hard to tell. It might just be a temporary ISP problem. Give it another few days and if it persists, you can post in Internet and Browsers section of the main forum.

Don't forget to reenable the protections we disabled.

For the service, in services msc change the startup type to autostart.

Run Spywareguard and put a check next to the items in Options and click Save Settings.

Run Winpatrol and check Always run Winpatrol through the taskbar icon.

Please take the following into consideration to maintain a clean computer.



Visit Windows Update regularly to get the latest security updates.You can also enable automatic updates.Your antivirus software and antispyware programs should also be updated regularly. Make a habit of running scans on a timely basis. Be careful about what you download, scan every file before clicking on it.
