Right. First of all, I'm an amateur at computing. Know the basic stuff, but in no way an expert, so any replies in layman's terms please!

I think my pc has been infected by a virus. It has disabled McAfee and Norton and prevents me from using any other downloaded anti virus programs. (I can download them, but when I try to run the file, it shuts down). Bought the 2005 version of Norton, but can't remove the old Norton version as it asks for a supervisor to log on, but doesn't give me any options to become a supervisor in the first place. Similarly with Mcafee, it won't allow me to run the program at all.

Does anyone have any idea what I'm dealing with and how do I remove it short of reformatting my hard drive which I don't want to do.

:) :) :tazz:
