hi
recently one of my friends computers had this problem of viruses/adware. i installed and ran avast virus check and adaware as well, and deleted all necessary infected files.

upon reboot of the computer and a secondary virus check by avast; the computer never finished loading into windows. now never time i restart the computer windows fails to fully load.

the computer comes far enough so that i can enter the task manager (by pushing alt+ctrl+del) and run any program from there but it never loads fully enough so that shortcuts, the start menu, and the system icon tray load. in otherwords it doesnt load to the desktop.

does anyone know how i can get the windows screen to fully load?

i opened system restore thru the taskmanager and loaded to an earlier checkpoint but that didnt solve the problem. If anyone can offer any help.
Please Do.
Thanks
Kalian

Hi Kalian,
When u get task manager up, have you checked what processess are running? There may be a clue there....

Another question... Can you press the windows key to access the start menu? Or the windows key and D to view desktop?

post back how you get on

Do not reformat
you tried the repair now try
What I type in blue is what you type
Start > all programs> accessories>command prompt>sfc /scannow enter
you will need your disc for this.
It may work this is a desperate try as Murry's fix should have replaced these files
But anything is worth a try
