A few times an hour my mouse just starts shooting all over the place. I usually notice it when I am playing counter-strike, but it happens at other times too. I could not run the ewido scan because I had already used up my trial version.

Here is my HJT Log--

Download and unzip BFUzip from http://computercops..../Merijn/bfu.zip
Run the program and click the Web button as shown here:
Posted Image

Use this URL to copy into the address bar of the Download script window:
http://metallica.geekstogo.com/p2pnetwork.bfu

Execute the script by clicking the Execute button.

If you have any questions about the use of BFU please read here:
http://metallica.gee...structions.html

Check the following items in HijackThis.
Close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

O9 - Extra button: PartyPoker.com - {B7FE5D70-9AA2-40F1-9C6B-12A255F085E1} - C:\Program Files\PartyPoker\PartyPoker.exe (file missing)
O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: PartyPoker.com - {B7FE5D70-9AA2-40F1-9C6B-12A255F085E1} - C:\Program Files\PartyPoker\PartyPoker.exe (file missing)

Then reboot and post a new HijackThis log.
Also let me know if that fixed your problem.

Regards,

OK sorry, I was running BFU from the desktop so not sure if that would affect it. I ran BFU from a folder on my C Drive that I created. When I restarted the system crashed from a serious error. When I logged back on (which took an abnormally long amount of time) I got some type of "kernelfaultcheck registry change denied" message from spybot. Hope this helps. It appears the problem still persists, but I am not sure.

Here is my new log...

There was no need to run the script again. It got rid of the trojan it is meant to remove after the first run.

Another cause that might be responsible is the mix of two AntiVirus programs you seem to be using. AVG and Norton.

It is never a good idea to uise tow resident AV's since it is bound to result in conflicts.

If you let me know which one you'd like to conntinue using I might be of assistance in disabling the resident part of the other.

I wish to use Norton Antivirus resident.

P.S. Did i mess something up by running the script twice?

The script only produced a couple of errors extra the second run. It shouldn't have any bad effects.

Rightclick the AVG symbol in the systray or Start the Program from Start > Programs and choose the Conrol centre

Then doubleclick on AVG Resident Shield and remove the checkmarks next to each item on the Propties tab.

I did what you said, but I keep getting a message that virus protection is off, and my computer is unprotected. This message is from Windows Security Alerts. The problem with my mouse is still apparent. My computer has also been turning off at random times, and when I start back up I get your computer has recovered from a serious error message. I had never had this message until I ran the BFU script the second time.

Here is my new HJT log.

Let's get rid of the recovery error first.
You can solve this problem by recreating the pagefile. To re-create the pagefile, follow these steps:
1. Click Start.
2. Right-click My Computer.
3. Click Properties.
4. On the Advanced tab, in the Performance section, click Settings.
5. In the Virtual Memory section, click Change.
6. For Paging file size for selected drive, click No Paging File, and then click Set.
7. Click Yes after the following warning appears:
If the paging file on volume X: has an initial size of less than xx megabytes, then the system may not be able to create a debugging information file if a STOP error occurs. Continue anyway?
(X is the drive letter and xx is the amount of RAM installed on your computer minus 1 megabyte.)
8. Click System Managed Size.
9. Click OK four times, and then restart the computer when you are prompted.

I'm not sure if Windows does not recognize AVG as an Antivirus, but we can deal with that later.

What I wanted to know is if the method I advised helped against the problem it was meant for.

Yea, the computer has not restarted randomly since, nor have i gotten that message. The mouse is still messed up though.

Just to clarify something, I noticed that you said "I'm not sure if Windows does not recognize AVG as an Antivirus, but we can deal with that later." It was AVG that we disabled.

Thanks for the help,
Snwbrdr

I think I remember reading Windows would recognize Norton as an Antivirus.

Can you read and follow recommendations here:

http://helpdesk.its....recognizeav.htm

Let me know if that helps.

All that did was turn off antivirus monitoring, it didn't help Windows recognize it. This message is gone though.

BTW:How do I make it so Spy-Bot doesn't open on startup? I want the resident to open but not the actual application. Do you know what I mean?
