I had to restore my hard drive from a Norton Ghost image that was about a year old. I saved the contents of the drive to another drive before it was reimaged. Is there any way for me to recover the Oulook Express mail files and address book files from the old drive's data? Thanks for your help

Hi pharbert

The mail files that you arelooking for have a .dbx file extension. You should be able to find these in this location in XP

C:\Documents and Settings\your username\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{some long numbers and letters}\Microsoft\Outlook Express

You should be able to copy the files over to that location on the new HD.

The Address Book has a .wab file extension and should be found here in XP

C:\Documents and Settings\your username\Application Data\Microsoft\Address Book

You should be able to copy the address book over as well, or import it.
