hmm ok, trying rebooting into Safe Mode. You can do this by restarting your computer and continually tapping F8 until a menu appears. Use your up arrow key to highlight Safe Mode then hit enter.

Once in Safe Mode, try it with APT first on the new file.

If that doesn't work, then try Process Explorer on the newly renamed file and this time if there are 3 instances, click the first of the 2 with the same numbers next to them, then delete it.

Let me know how that goes!

i understand when u say not to boot in safe mode with net connections but that malware (only thing that could have done it) screwed up my comp in many ways. i can't boot in just safe mode- it freezes my comp up so i need to do it with net connections or it wont' boot- plus everything i downloaded onto my desktop on regualr mode i can't access on the safe mode account

which means i need to dl and then restart again
so gimme a minute
thanks

The trojan we are trying to get rid of would not be named Isass.exe so that's a completely different file. Make sure it starts with an I because lsass.exe (starting with an L) is legit and if you delete it, you're going to have much bigger problems on your hands than what you've got!

Then it's a good thing you did not delete it! Please post a new HiJackThis log for me and do not shutdown your system so I can see the current name of the file.

Follow the instruction on post #17 for this file:

kxoztb.exe

In Safe Mode. Also, you can still access everything in Safe Mode, but you have to log in under your user account. You're giving 2 options when booting up: Your user account and Administrator, if you log in under your user account (NOT administrator) everything will still be where it's supposed to be.
