Visit Microsoft Update here

http://update.micros...t.aspx?ln=en-us

Download all the critical updates, they will install if Windows Installer is correctly installed

You should be able to install Java if you have uninstalled the previous version

Use the online installation for Java

http://java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

Before this, click verify installation on right, which should say you do not hava Java

Hi Kieth,
Sorry I was sick and couldnt work on my computer.

The windows Installer seems to be installed and JRE 5.0 is also installed BUT
lost the page that had a TEST TO CHECK to see if JRE was installed Properly; would you know the page link??

Im not sure if the following problem is linked to JRE being improperly installed, or if my AVG Anti-virus isnt working.

Ewido found; Maxifiles= high threat

One site in deleting Maxifiles

Keith please help delete all of these spyware-maleware intruders from my computer. Its interfering my cursor from stop typing and my computer is extreemly slow.

Appreciating your time and help,
Lyn

You need the top link from post 19, the picture explains it

As you have malware

Please go here:

http://www.geekstogo..._Log-t2852.html

Run all the programmes as advised then post a current Hijack This Log in a new topic in the Malware Forum

If you are unable to run any of the programmes, ask for advice in the Malware Forum

Hi Kieth,
I just found out the sudden outbreak of Viruses and trojans most likely came from my firewall being turned off.
It is almost impossible to check about my JRE until I get these hijackers gone!

I will go maleware forum and copy my HJT log there.

Thank you for all your help,
Lyn
