When I attempt to install Acrobat 7 Pro, the installer shows that Acrobat 6 is still installed. I've followed Adobe's instructions to remove manually, deleted any trace I can find, but I still get the error message. Help!

probably still got references to it in the Registry which the installer is finding. There's a free utility to remove redundant entries which I've used for ages and it's never let me down: RegSupreme 1.3 It's a 30-day trial version but it's fully working -- nothing missing.

Good suggestion, I already use the excellent big brother to that, JV16. Although helpful, it still hasn't solved the problem. Thanks anyway!
