Hi. I'm currently utilizing a Compaq Presario 2100 laptop. Yesterday, the fan in my laptop started making really loud noises. I looked online and a few sites suggested that I clean off any dust because a hairball might be stuck inside the exhaust vent. However, after cleaning it, it is still making the same loud noise. What should I do? :tazz:

I want to find out what the problem is before I take any action, whether I really do need to replace it or it's a minor problem. Obviously, replacing the fan would be an obvious solution and I already know that.
