Hi there. I got this trojan horse virus today and have tried all ways to get rid of it but to no avail. Please help. I am not very computer literate so please bear with me.
I got a norton alert telling me that i have a high risk alert from a trojan horse Trojan.Desktophijack.B, Object Name: C:\WINNT\system32\1024\hpE885.tmp but it could not delete and access to the file was denied. I ran Spybot search and destroy v1.3 and it showed 6 Smitfraud entries that could not be immunized as there may be several similar programs running simultaneously or something to that effect. It suggested that I re-boot the computer and it will be removed but to no avail. I tried to run Norton Live update but it seems that Norton Intrusion Detection Signatures, Norton Internet Security security updates and Norton Internet Security program updates are not available. I also have two new desktop icons appearing; online security and security troubleshooting. As I am not very good at computers, I even bought the Xoftspy 4.15 to try to get rid of it but it does not seem to work. Now I am really desperate so please help.
