Hello you friendly people :tazz:

As this is my first time on these forums, or doing anything hairy on my computer please forgive me if I seem a little amatuerish, I'm only 17 after all :).

Well my computer was infected by a ton of spyware and malware a while back so i followed a friends advice and downloaded spy-bot S+D, Ad-aware and some anti-virus software. After running them all i discovered a treasure trove of bots and trojans and all kind of evil files. I continued to fix all the detected problems. But one has persisted. my computer keeps shutting itself down randomly with the flash of a "Pokapoka70.exe error" box. I found some details on various other pokapoka's like 63 and 69, but didn't dare to follow those instructions as the difference in number could mean a different version of the virus and thus a different solution. (I dont want to [bleep] up and make my PC implode) I ran the "Hijackthis" software you recommended and saved the log which i have pasted below. Any help you software wizards could give would be appreciated beyond words. :)

Hello Astraeus, Welcome to Geeks to Go!

The pokapoka70 is a new file, but no worries. Would you mind sending me the file?

Using Windows Explorer, please locate this file:

C:\WINDOWS\etb\pokapoka70.exe

Right-click on it and go to "Send to > Compress (zipped) Folder".

It will create a zipped folder called pokapoka70.zip inside the etb folder. Please e-mail that zipped folder to submit@atribune.org

I appreciate it! We'll get you fixed up :tazz:

Hmm i followed your advice yet i could find no ETB folder on my system anywhere. I also ran a search for ETB and Pokapoka70.exe but to no avail.

Sorry : /

Any idea oh wise computer lords? :)

Thanks again.

Thank you :)

It's hidden so you wouldn't be able to find it unless hidden files are showing, but no worries we managed to get the file already. :tazz:

Let's get rid of LOP first. Do you have Messenger Plus! 3 installed?

*Open HijackThis.
*Click on "Open Misc Tools Section"
*Make sure that both boxes beside "Generate StartupList Log" are checked:

List all minor sections(Full)

and

List Empty Sections(Complete)

Click "Generate StartupList Log".
Click "Yes" at the prompt

It will produce a NotePad Page. I need you to copy the entire contents of that page and paste it here.

In order for us to be able to remove LOP, you must uninstall Messenger Plus! 3 from your system. You agreed to their sponsor program which caused you system to become infected with LOP.

Please let me know when you have completely uninstalled the program.

Copy everything inside the code box below and paste it into notepad. Go up to "File > Save As", click the drop-down box to change the "Save As Type" to "All Files". Save it as remlop.bat on your desktop.

@echo off
%systemdrive%
cd C:\WINDOWS\Tasks
attrib -r -s -h A6EF1C1391849263.job
del A6EF1C1391849263.job
attrib -r -s -h AD3E115491658188.job
del AD3E115491658188.job
attrib -r -s -h AD6CE76F91AB9B47.job
del AD6CE76F91AB9B47.job
exit

Double-click remlop.bat

Then please run HijackThis. Place a check next to the following items and click FIX CHECKED:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer,SearchURL = http://www.sitesearc...ral.com/sp2.php
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://www.xanvyzcjq...X8vLiN60nR.html
R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://www.qhkenvctd...6Jt4R/cCjB4.cgi

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [CREATIVE MFCD WEB BARB] C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\store4creativemfcd\Defyhide.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [book global] C:\DOCUME~1\Owner.DAN\APPLIC~1\IDOLSL~1\LongFacePlatform.exe

Close HiJackThis.

Reboot into Safe Mode. You can do this by restarting your computer and continually tapping the F8 key until a menu appears. Select Safe Mode and hit enter.

Once in Safe Mode, using Windows Explorer, delete the following folders, both are there:

C:\Documents and Settings\Owner.DAN\Application Data\IDOLSL~1 <-This isn't the full name of the folder. Delete any folder in this location that starts with "IDOLSL"
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\store4creativemfcd

Reboot into normal mode.

Download and install CleanUp!

Open Cleanup! by double-clicking the icon on your desktop (or from the Start > All Programs menu).
Set the program up as follows:
Click "Options..."
Move the arrow down to "Custom CleanUp!"
Put a check next to the following (Make sure nothing else is checked!):
  • Empty Recycle Bins
  • Delete Cookies
  • Delete Prefetch files
  • Cleanup! All Users
Click OK
Press the CleanUp! button to start the program.

It may ask you to reboot/log off at the end, click NO.

Then, please run this online virus scan:
ActiveScan

Copy the results of the ActiveScan and paste them here along with a new HiJackThis log. :tazz:

Did all you said up to the activescan part. When i try in my default browser, firefox, it tells me to use IE. But when I click on the "Scan your pc" button in IE, nothing happens, like im clicking empty space. Apologies if I'm being simple, is there any alternative?

Please RIGHT-CLICK HERE and Save As (in IE it's "Save Target As") to download Silent Runners.
  • Save it to the desktop.
  • Run Silent Runner's by doubleclicking the "Silent Runners" icon on your desktop.
  • You will see a text file appear on the desktop - it's not done, let it run (it won't appear to be doing anything!)
  • Once you receive the prompt "All Done!", double-click the new text file on the desktop, copy that entire log, and paste it here.
*NOTE* If you receive any warning message about scripts, please choose to allow the script to run.
