I recently purchased Battlefield 2, but my computer locks up completely within 5 minutes to a hour. The lock up is accompanied by feedback, in game sound loops, and other strange sounds. I have experienced similar problems within other games, such as Rainbow Six 3, but nowhere near as persistant. I searched this website and googled others to find the source of the problem. It seems that many many other people have the same problem, all with creative sound cards. As the title of this topic says, I have a sound blaster audigy 2 zs. This is also the only piece of hardware that I have been unable to update the drivers on. I recently thought it would be a good idea to uninstall the card and existing drivers, but it seems I lack the cd or files necessary for a re-install. I'm afraid that I greatly complicated my problems.
