I am so new to this, and I have reached wits end...after running norton, adaware- and microsoft antispyware, this crap keeps coming back. I do not know what to do, and am not very registry guru orientated...please help me get rid of this thing....im running windows xp

Close out HJT please,

Click Start | Control Panel.
Double-click the "Java Control Panel"
On the 'General' tab under the 'Temporary Internet Files section', click Delete Files.
Click Apply and then OK.



Restart your computer, Run another scan with Active scan,

When done post back a fresh HJT log and what Active scan hass found please

Also, Make sure in notepad you have WordWrap unchecked prior to posting your HJT log please

Reboot to safe mode and run a full system scan,

Restart your computer, Give active scan another run

Post back what Active finds along with a fresh HJT log please

You know Don, it took almost 4 hours for Norton to run in safe mode, not happy. *sighs*

Keep AD-Aware. and Spybot 1.3 handy, Check them for updates prior to running and run them weekly
Same with your Anti Virus,

For an added check run an online virus scan, you can use one of the 2 below,
TrendMicro's HouseCall
ActiveScan

Be sure and give the Temp folders a cleaning out now and then as well, Make sure after you clean your Temp files to empty out your Recycle bin as well.
Click Start | Run | type in cleanmgr | OK

Let it scan your system for files to remove.

Make sure Temporary Files, Temporary Internet Files, and Recycle Bin are the only things checked.

Press OK to remove them.


Remeber to Check Windows for updates

seems to be running okay, no pop ups or anything, checked my programs which are my life and they seem to be okay....it still seems to lag when starting and takes awhile to shut down as it saves my settings...but I think we are good?? LOL..

Win Fixer is back. [bleep] it. Started yesterday when I went to the hewlett packard web site and I am disgusted. I ran my adaware and it found it, so I quaranteened it.....

I would assume there is no way to innoculate yourself from this stinking thing...??
Also, I got rid of AOL and only use IE why is it starting up ??

Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.

• Double-click VundoFix.exe to extract the files
• This will create a VundoFix folder on your desktop.
• After the files are extracted, please reboot your computer into Safe Mode. You can do this by restarting your computer and continually tapping the F8 key until a menu appears. Use your up arrow key to highlight Safe Mode then hit enter.
• Once in safe mode open the VundoFix folder and doubleclick on KillVundo.bat
• You will first be presented with a warning and a list of forums to seek help at.

• Pressing any key will cause a "Blue Screen of Death" this is normal, do not worry!
• Once your machine reboots please continue with the instructions below.

Click Start | Run | type in cleanmgr | OK

Let it scan your system for files to remove.

Make sure Temporary Files, Temporary Internet Files, and Recycle Bin are the only things checked.

Press OK to remove them.


Then, please run this online virus scan: ActiveScan

Copy the results of the ActiveScan and paste them here along with a new HiJackThis log and the vundofix.txt file from the vundofix folder into this topic.
