Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should 'not' have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below.

Go to Start->Run and type in regedit and hit OK. Go to File->Export and save the registry somewhere as a backup. Close the Registry Editor now. Go to Start->Run and type in notepad and hit OK. Then copy and paste the following into Notepad:

REGEDIT4
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\]
"NI.UWFX5"=-

Save the file as "delete.reg". Make sure to save it with the quotes. Double click on it and choose Yes to merge it. You may delete the file afterwards.

Just to make sure that removed the bad registry entry, do the following also and see if you can delete that entry (if found):

Go to Start->Run and type in regedit and hit OK. Go to File->Export and save the registry somewhere as a backup. While in the Registry Editor, navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and delete NI.UWFX5

If any of the above registry keys are giving you problems deleting, right click on them and click on Permissions. Then click on the Advanced button. Make sure the first box (Inherit from parent...) is checked. Click OK and OK. Then try deleting the entry again. Once you're done, close the Registry Editor.

Run CleanUp program again.

Boot into Safe Mode and run Ewido again. Save the report when it's done.

Restart and post a new HijackThis log along with the Ewido report.

Do you see a MyWebSearch folder in c:\program files\? If you do, delete it. Then go into HijackThis->Config->Misc Tools->Open Uninstall Manager and look for the MyWebSearch entry. Click on it once and then click on the "Delete this entry" button in HijackThis.

To help prevent future spyware installations/infections, please read the Anti-Spyware Tutorial and use the tools provided.
