hi there i was wondering if someone can help me with the removal of of a virus, which i believe is the win32.worm.alcan.a virus. it causes a flooding of zip files in various folders including my shared folder and incoming folder in emule. no matter how many times i delete them, they keep reappearing and its taking up almost 2 to 3GBs of space on my pc. I also can't open task manager anymore. ive tried just about every antivirus software including adaware, housecall, etrust, ewido, and spybot (in safe mode) and its still there. I would really appreciate any help i can get. here is a copy of my hijack this log:

Welcome to GTG.

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should 'not' have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below.

Download KillBox http://www.greyknigh...spy/KillBox.exe. Run KillBox and check the box that says 'End Explorer Shell While Killing File'. Next click on 'Delete on Reboot'. Copy the below files and go back to KillBox. Go to File->Paste from Clipboard and then hit the button with a red circle and white X. Confirm to delete and when asked if you want to reboot, say no:

C:\Program Files\MsConfigs\MsConfigs.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\p2pnetwork.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\CMD.COM
C:\WINDOWS\system32\netstat.com
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ping.com
C:\WINDOWS\system32\regedit.com
C:\WINDOWS\system32\tasklist.com
C:\WINDOWS\system32\taskkill.com
C:\WINDOWS\system32\taskmgr.com
C:\WINDOWS\system32\tracert.com

Restart. Make sure to close all open windows. Check and fix the following in HijackThis:

R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant =
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,CustomizeSearch =
R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =
R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing
O2 - BHO: MPEG Support Dll - {57A70350-87D9-4EA2-B3AC-C1C1B5296035} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\mpegcore.dll (file missing)
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [WildTangent CDA] "C:\Program Files\WildTangent\Apps\CDA\GameDrvr.exe" /startup "C:\Program Files\WildTangent\Apps\CDA\cdaEngine0500.dll"
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [MsUpdate] C:\Program Files\MsUpdate\MsUpdate.exe /auto

O16 - DPF: {15AD6789-CDB4-47E1-A9DA-992EE8E6BAD6} - http://static.windup...e/bridge-c6.cab

Uninstall WildTangent via the Add/Remove panel.

Delete these if found:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\mpegcore.dll
C:\Program Files\WildTangent\
C:\Program Files\MsUpdate\
scvhost.exe - notice the spelling, make sure it's spelled exactly as shown here.

Restart and run this scan:

Run an online virus scan at Panda ActiveScan at http://www.pandasoft...ucts/activescan. Post the log from the Panda scan here.

Restart again and post a new HijackThis log.

Are they all disinfected by Panda? If so, then you don't have to post that log here :tazz:

Your log is clean.

To help prevent future spyware installations/infections, please read the Anti-Spyware Tutorial and use the tools provided.

Are there any problems now? If not, you should be set to go.
