With my DSL disconnected I have run a variety of ad ware programs, finally managing to stop the one that shut me down when ad aware ran. CoolWebSearch remains constantly loading some onlygoodsearch.com page everytime I use IE. A part of it apparently in a windows folder named "Inetg" and a file in the folder named services.exe is listed as a critical program. I cannot end it with task manager, I cannot delete it. I used Hijack This! to delete everything related to Inetg but it keeps coming back. Help! :tazz:

To get rid of your coolwebsearch stuff, you can download CWShredder.exe and run it. I was told to download it by one of the admin here and it seemed to work. If they tell you anything different though, I'd believe them. ;)

This variant is too new for CWShredder I'm afraid.

Check the items listed below in HijackThis, close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://www.onlygoodsearch.com/10013/

F1 - win.ini: run=C:\WINDOWS\inetg\services.exe

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {5321E378-FFAD-4999-8C62-03CA8155F0B3} - (no file)

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [xp_system] C:\WINDOWS\inetg\services.exe

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [xp_system] C:\WINDOWS\inetg\services.exe
O4 - Startup: PowerReg Scheduler V3.exe

Reboot into safe mode and delete:
C:\WINDOWS\inetg\services.exe <= only the services.exe in that folder

Regards,

Pieter
