hey, i've got another computer here that i need some help with. it's a newer dell running win xp home. It's legal this time really. lol i can't believe that customer yesterday. anyways...

it started with an error becuase media player would not work. it would come up with and internal error in the app. so I tried to do a windows update, but the website wouldn't load. no errors or anything, just blank, saying it was "done" in the bottom left corner on IE.

I went in and checked the BITS in services and it's set to automatic, but it was stopped. when I tried to start it i got this.

"The Background Intelligent Transfer Service service terminated with service-specific error 2147942402 (0x80070002)"

microsofts help section isn't that helpful.

http://support.micro....com/kb/223188/

that is the site. the problem is some of the reg keys they say to delete aren't there in the first place. and the drive letter is fine.

i have no idea.

ok did that. i followed all of the regedits. but i did have one problem.

i could not redo the mssip.dll file. i got this error

LoadLibrary("mssip.dll") failed - The specified module could not be found.

every other edit worked, but i still just get a blank site when trying the updates.

hm.
