Please print these instructions out for use in Safe Mode.
  • Double-click VundoFix.exe to extract the files
  • This will create a VundoFix folder on your desktop.
  • After the files are extracted, please reboot your computer into Safe Mode. You can do this by restarting your computer and continually tapping the F8 key until a menu appears. Use your up arrow key to highlight Safe Mode then hit enter.
  • Once in safe mode open the VundoFix folder and doubleclick on KillVundo.bat
  • You will first be presented with a warning and a list of forums to seek help at.
    it should look like this

    VundoFix V2.1 by Atri
By pressing enter you agree that you are using this at your own risk
Please seek assistance at one of the following forums:
    http://www.atribune.org/forums
    http://www.247fixes.com/forums
    http://www.geekstogo.com/forum
    http://forums.net-integration.net

  • At this point press enter one time.
  • Next you will see:

Type in the filepath as instructed by the forum staff
Then Press Enter, Then F6, Then Enter Again to continue with the fix.

  • At this point please type the following file path (make sure to enter it exactly as below!):
    • C:\WINDOWS\system32\ddayx.dll

  • Next you will see:

Please type in the second filepath as instructed by the forum staff
Then Press Enter, Then F6, Then Enter Again to continue with the fix.

  • At this point please type the following file path (make sure to enter it exactly as below!):C:\WINDOWS\system32\xyadd.* This will be the vundo filename spelt backwards. for example if the vundo dll was vundo.dll you would have the user enter odnuv.*
  • Press Enter, then press the F6 key, then press Enter one more time to continue with the fix.
  • The fix will run then HijackThis will open.
  • In HiJackThis, please place a check next to the following items and click FIX CHECKED:O2 - BHO: (no name) - {00DBDAC8-4691-4797-8E6A-7C6AB89BC441} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\C:\WINDOWS\system32\ddayx.dll
    O20 - Winlogon Notify: ddayx.dll - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\C:\WINDOWS\system32\ddayx.dll
  • After you have fixed these items, close Hijackthis and Press any key to Force a reboot of your computer.
  • Pressing any key will cause a "Blue Screen of Death" this is normal, do not worry!
  • Once your machine reboots please continue with the instructions below.
Open Cleanup! by double-clicking the icon on your desktop (or from the Start > All Programs menu).
Set the program up as follows:

It may ask you to reboot at the end, click NO.

Then, please run this online virus scan: ActiveScan

Copy the results of the ActiveScan and paste them here along with a new HiJackThis log and the vundofix.txt file from the vundofix folder into this topic.

I started the latest instructions last night and was so tired..lol..so I shut down the puter and tried today but the minute I hit the internet I got bombarded so I shut it down again and rebooted in safe and followed the instructions again only this time HiJackThis did not open auto after vundo directions so I just opened it and ran it again and those two files were still there so I checked them, deleted rebooted and currently the puter is at active scan checking and so far it has caught 2 viruses...last night when I shut down it was about halfway through at active scan and had caught 3 at that point...anyhow I will wait until that finishes and then I will repost the results.
Thank you soooo much for all this help, I really do appreciate your time.

Can you tell me if this HiJackThis Log looks better? I ran Xoftspy and it found two trojans in the registry and quarantined them so then I rebooted and ran it again and it didn't find anything the second time. I'm running Trojan Hunter and then doing another Active Scan when Trojan Hunter is done and I will post that result.
Meanwhile I was wondering if you could tell me if this looks better.
Thanks

One more thing I am not sure if this is odd or not but worth mentioning..when I log on in safe mode it has my user and administrator which I don't understand as I have all guest accounts turned off and thus my account should be administrator but there is nothing in there as far as files that I have in my profile....is this suppose to be this way?

The vundo file was posted, it is the only text file in the folder besides the read file...do you want me to run a process with it first to get a file? I'm sorry...I have a hijack this file?
Thanks. :tazz:

Just as I thought. A file was deleted.

Can you please delete that vundo folder, then redownload it, then rerun #17 instructions.

Thanks,

very nice :)

Xoftspy is listed on the list of non trusted spyware. I hope you will consider removing it.

http://www.spywarewa...nti-spyware.htm

open Hijackthis and do a scan. Please check off the following items:

click FIX CHECKED then close Hijackthis

It also appears that part of spybot Search and Destroy was delete, hope you reinstall it as it is a very good program.

reboot and please post back a fresh HiJackthis log.

Thanks,

Okay, yes I will re-install search and destroy. Also I did look at the rogue spyware page and it had a note for xoftspy and they said it is no longer considered rogue anti spyware, do you think I should still remove this?
Thanks for the input and all the help. :tazz:
Here is the newest HiJackThis file and it looks like those entries are now gone. Do you think they will come back?
