is there a problem with steam or CS:S as it only crashs when i load that up.

similar problems are happening on my brothers computers aswell.

do any STAFF play CS:S or have steam, if so is this happening with you aswell.

its working just fine for me. was playing hl2 deathmatch earlier. sounds like maybe you need to uninstall steam and then reinstall it.

ive been told that its the new update as MANY people on the steam forums says its not working for them aswell, due to the update.

ill give it till wednsday if they dont release a new NEW update, ill hvae to reinstall.

For the past couple of days i've been having problems with steam as well. My copy of steam displays the message that it can't connect to the steam server.

zeus, if you have a firewall please check your settings. that is the most common problem with steam connecting.

I will also add that if you use xfire to join, the most recent versions of both are having compatabilty issues.

The first thing I did when I had a problem connecting was to check the firewall and it's setup ok.

contact them via support (telephone). the have been very helpfull to several people I know who had issues.

are you getting a specific error message when it fails to connect?

i'm not at home at the minute but I think the error message was something like unable to locate server.

so thre could be a chance that that is not letting me connect to cs:s?

EDIT: ok i realised its not restarting its self its actuall putting its elf into hibernation
