[Purgatory]

I need some help with Direct X, if any of you would happen to know that via Steam from Valve and their latest update.. it really messed things up. Anyways, I heard on their forums that if I reinstall Direct X, it might fix my problems.. but once I download dxwebsetup.exe from microsoft.com and run it, I choose accept then next it goes to a window that says Installation complete, in a mere millisecond goes straight to this window. and tells me The components installed are now ready for use. Can anyone tell me where I can download the actually installation file for the newest version of Direct X?

It will likely do the same thing, however, since the webdownload checks to see what files are there, if it is pleased with what it finds, it quits. The redistributable version linked to above should do the same thing, as they share a common executable.
