Why can't you get the download for Puppy Linux going? If you're using a download manager set it to one line/one file at a time. If you're not using a download manager I'd reccomend getting one. Or a good FTP client with resume capability.

The site I found for Puppy Linux you need an FTP client, I use the one from www.ftpshell.com my download manager, which would probably work too in the Site manager mode is Flashget from www.amazesoft.com but do you have a cd-burner? That will greatly simplifiy installing any version of Linux because you just download and burn the .iso files. That's the way I've been doing it and it works great and is very easy, it works just like a Windows installation.

You need the client. In fact I just used the client to download Puppy Linux, but I haven't burned it to disk yet because I'm using Flashget to download KNOPPIX and Fedora 4 core.

I already gave you the link for Flashget. Look above! And thenotch gave you a good link where you can find FC4 under Linux. It's the one I'm using.

BTW the machine I'm using now is a junker I got at the flea market for twenty dollars, in an old Dell XPS case with missing front and side cover. I put it in a five dollar case with PSU, fixed a few minor problems and it works fine and looks nice.

PentiumIII, slot 1, 600/256/100

256mb RAM

CD-RW drive

problems fixed, it went into setup saying the CPU speed was incorrect, it didn't like the speed to be set in BIOS, preferred the dip switch settings. It would freeze after that, turned out it had four different memory sticks, changed it to one. It would also go black, had a universal type CPU socket that made it hard to put the CPU in correctly.

If it's Flashget you installed ou don't need to. Just right click on the URL and choose download by Flashget or download all by Flashget. If it's the FTP clent, just copy the URL of the site into the clipboard and the client will pick it up. Read the help files, tey'll tell you a lot more than I can.
