I am trying to help my nephew with his computer (by phone..so I have not seen the problem).

He tells me that when he starts his computer (XP) everything is fine, but over time, the screen pixelates to the point that nothing can be made out.

This happens both as he is writing e-mail or is playing one of his games.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I'm not entirerly certain what you mean by pixelate, but my first suspician is heat...i would open the case, clean out the dust bunnies, and then use a small fan to blow over the motherboard and see if the probably reproduces before closing the case back up
