Hi,

I used to have various malware problems with my system, but after using the malware/spyware forum, I was helped out and apparently my system is now clean. However, I still have a problem in that whenever I try to browse files using My Computer or if I want to play any media, I get a "windows has encountered an unknown error" message and then explorer just crashes. Can anyone please give me some advice?

Thanks.

I suggest you try a Repair Installation of Windows to replace any of the files that were corrupted by the malware that was on your system. Don't worry, all your programs will still work after doing this and all your files and settings will still be there. This will just replace the Windows operating system files. You will need to redo all the Windows Updates again after doing this.
