after reading an artical in a magazine, they brought up a very good point. They were excited to see that Windows Vista looks promising but, what about all of us with Windows XP now. They thought that it would of been a good idea, that before Microsoft would release Vista, that they should first fix all the ungodly things with XP.

the writer stressed another good point that when, XP first came out, it was revaloutionary, but then after a year or so of owning it, you found yourself realizing that any [bleep] with a computer can send a virus to your computer. and then you are faced with the horror of re-installing XP just to have it do the same thing over and over again.

Service pack 2 was a start. but it didn't fix everything. personally, i would like to see some sort of an effort to convince the people that these errors and bugs found in XP can be fixed and won't be an issue in Vista.

Microsoft have spent a lot of time on secrutiy in vista. As for the bugs all I can say is that this windows is built totaly differently then previous so it should be easier to fix bugs if they arise but there should be less in the first place. And I don't think it is possiable to 100% secure xp theres just to many pathces that then change something else that then need a patch themselves.

yeah, I'd have to agree with Bongo there. The fact that there are people out there looking for flaws (probably more obsessed about it than the Microsoft Staff) means that at some point, something is going to go wrong with security.

I do agree though, that Microsoft should take a loooong time letting these programs out. They haven't got the best rep. when it comes to security...

I agree to the point that microsoft has to make XP water and air tight before producing Vista.

Agreed, if they cant even keep XP safe with good security what is going to convince people to move over to Vista?

The bright side is maybe everyone will spend their time breaking into vista so us slower xp users can straighten uot our machines.I miss the old days of a tape recorder,television and telephone.(My boss was into this puter stuff way back)<
