Hello there :) today (a couple of hours ago) I was on aim and my computer started crashing and pop ups appeared and 180search toolbar was somehow installed. I did a norton anti virus scan and it appeared I had 48 viruses but my computer crashed before I could delete them. Then I tried running the anti virus scan in safe mode and nothing came up, I even ran "clean up" but when I logged on normally I ran the anti virus again and it came up as 40 viruses, then (since I have automatic aim sign on) aim signed in and my computer screen turned blue and said something about trouble and shut down. I just ran the anti virus scan again and you wont believe how many viruses I had! I had 65! this time I did finish the scan though and this is what I got

Detected: 65
repaired: 0
Quarantined: 0
deleted: 49
excluded: 16

and this is my hijackthis log

Hello,

It's better to print out the next instructions or save it in notepad, because you also have to work in safe mode without networking support, so this page wouldn't be available then.
It is also important you don't miss a step and perform everything in the right order!!

* Go to start > controlpanel > software > add/remove programs and uninstall next if present:

InetGet
Media Gateway
180search Assistant or 180search Toolbar
PrositeFinder

REBOOT afterwards.

* Download and install CCleaner
Do not use it yet.

* Please set your system to show all files; please see here if you're unsure how to do this.
!! Important step !!

* Please download ewido:
http://www.ewido.net/en/download/
Let it update, but don't let it scan yet!!

* Reboot into Safe Mode`: ( without networking support !)
°To get into the Safe mode as the computer is booting press and hold your "F8 Key". Use your arrow keys to move to "Safe Mode" and press your Enter key.

* Start HijackThis, close all open windows leaving only HijackThis running. Place a check against each of the following:

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {00000000-0000-4E67-BC9C-B6F4666B7821} - C:\Program Files\ProSiteFinder\ProSiteFinder.dll

* Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.

* Using Windows Explorer, locate the following files/folders, and delete them if still present:

C:\Program Files\InetGet <== folder
C:\Program Files\ProSiteFinder <== folder
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Windows\services32.exe
C:\Program Files\Common Files\services.exe
C:\Program Files\DNS <== folder
C:\Program Files\180search Assistant Programs <== folder
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Windows\mc-110-12-0000080.exe
C:\Program Files\Common Files\mc-110-12-0000080.exe

* Still in safe mode Start Ccleaner
click "Options", click the "Advanced" tab
Uncheck: "Only delete files older than 48 hrs.", click Ok
Click "Cleaner" and click Run Cleaner (bottom right)

* Open Ewido Security Suite
Click on scanner

* Click Complete System Scan and the scan will begin.
* During the scan it will prompt you to clean files, click OK
* When the scan is finished, look at the bottom of the screen and click the Save report button.
* Save the report to your desktop

Close Ewido

* Reboot your system back to normal mode.

Post back a fresh HijackThis log and the log from ewido so I can take another look.

Hi, this is looking much better, log looks clean, but there must be still things present though.

Let's trace them now with Kasperky webscanner.
This scanner doesn't delete files, but it generates a log afterwards that I need.

Perform an online scan with Kaspersky WebScanner

Click "Launch Kaspersky Anti-Virus Web Scanner"
You will be prompted if you want to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, click yes.
This will start downloading the latest definition files.
Once the files have been downloaded click on "Next"

* Click "Scan Settings"
Select the following in Scan Settings (normally they are already selected by default)

°Scan using the following Anti-Virus database: Standard

°Scan Options: Scan Archives
Scan Mail Bases

* Click OK
* Under select a target to scan, select "My Computer"

* This program will start to scan your system.
The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run.
When the scan is done, it will show a list of infected files found.

* Click on the "Save as Text"- button:
Save the file to your desktop & copy and paste that information in your next post.

Don't install anything like AIM now, we have to deal with the rest first.

Download? You don't have to download anything (exept for the database/definitions). It's an online scanner.

Is it a problem with accessing the site? Can you exactly tell me what error you get?

Try this first:

* Download: Hoster
Unzip hoster to an own folder, eg C:\Hoster
Start Hoster.exe, click 'Restore Original Hosts' and click OK.

Then try the onlinescanner again.

Attention, you must be online to activate Kaspersky On-line Scanner, since the latest Anti-Virus bases version must be uploaded prior to scan. Otherwise we cannot guarantee detection of latest viruses. Please go online to use Kaspersky On-line Scanner.

thats what it says.

Just a couple of minutes ago, my mom was using the computer and a blue screen appeared... but she says thats it.

Uuum, according to Kaspersky, you don't have an internetconnection?

Let us try something else...

* Please download ewido:
http://www.ewido.net/en/download/

When installing, under "Additional Options" uncheck "Install background guard" and "Install scan via context menu".
When you run ewido for the first time, you may get a warning "Database could not be found!". Click OK. We will fix this in a moment.
From the main ewido screen, click on update in the left menu, then click the Start update button.
After the update finishes (the status bar at the bottom will display "Update successful")

Reboot in SAFE MODE!!

* Open Ewido Security Suite
Click on scanner

* Click Complete System Scan and the scan will begin.
* During the scan it will prompt you to clean files, click OK
* When the scan is finished, look at the bottom of the screen and click the Save report button.
* Save the report to your desktop

Close Ewido

While still in safe mode (Important!! ), Open Hijackthis.
Click 'config' (bottom right) > Misc Tools > Generate StartUpListlog
Check the two boxes next to it:
List also minor sections (full)
List empty sections (complete)
Click Generate StartupListlog

Reboot back to normal mode and post the startuplist from hijackthis together with the ewidolog.
