Ok, I have been making a list of commands I can run from the runbox, I did a search under ".cpl" and this "odbccp32.cpl" turned up amongst the others. Greek to me so please explain it.

It is the ODBC Data Source Anministrator, I don't know what it dose but I know it dose something. If you what more commands read Tis is has a lot that you can use.

tks for the reply, I copied that list a long time ago and now am adding quite a few new ones to it and will repost the final in my blog here. I would very much like to know what odbccp32.cpl is all about though.

ODBC (Open Database Connectivity) is standard so that all applications can access data from database which are made in any DBMS(Database Management System) program like MS-SQL Server, Oracle, MS-Access, etc..

The ODBC Data Source Anministrator makes the data from any database, made from any DBMS available to all Windows Applications.

You don't need to bother about these settings unless your an Appications Developer and your project uses some DBMS.
