I get a pop-up about every 30 minutes. Also, I keep getting prompted to install active-x controls at seemingly odd places; I don't install them, but it's curious.

Please Download the following tools to assist us in removing this infection!

Download WinPFind
- Right Click the Zip Folder and Select "Extract All"
- Extract it somewhere you will remember like the Desktop
- Dont do anything with it yet!
Download Track qoo
- Save it somewhere you will remember like the Desktop

Reboot into Safe Mode
Restart your computer and as soon as it starts booting up again continuously tap F8. A menu should come up where you will be given the option to enter Safe Mode.

Doubleclick WinPFind.exe

Click "Start Scan"
It will scan the entire System, so please be patient!
Once the Scan is Complete
Go to the WinPFind folder
Locate WinPFind.txt
Place those results in the next post!

Reboot back to Normal Mode!

Double Click on "Track qoo.vbs"

Note - If you Antivirus has Script Blocking, you will get a Pop Up Windows asking you what to do. Allow this Entire Script to Run, its harmless!

Wait a few seconds and a notepad page will pop up, Copy & Paste those results and place them in the next post along with the results of WinPFind!

If you see a message in the titlebar saying "Not responding..." you can ignore it. Windows somethimes displays this message due to the high volume of disk I/O. As long as the hard disk light is flashing, the program is still working properly.

Copy everything inside the code box below (starting with REGEDIT4) and paste it into Notepad. Go up to File > Save As, then click the drop-down box to change the "Save As Type" to "All Files". Save it as KillQoo.reg on your desktop. Don't do anything with it yet!

* Please download the Killbox by Option^Explicit.

* Save it to your desktop.

* Run Killbox.exe.

* Select "Delete on Reboot".

* Copy the file names below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them then press CTRL + C

Click the big yellow button on the right that says "Download Removal Tool".
Save it to your desktop.
Close all running programs and disconnect from the Internet.
Double-click the FxBeagle.exe file to start the removal tool.
Allow the tool to run, then reboot your computer.
After reboot run the tool again to ensure it got everything.

Post a new HiJackThis log please (and if there is a log created from the first run of FxBeagle.exe please post it as well.)

I ran the Microsoft tool, but it says that "No malicious software was detected"

And the virus that NAV finds is called W32.Beagle.AR@MM It keeps finding it and quarantining it, but never seems to get rid of it. I re-downloaded FxBeagle.exe and tried again, this time I got...

What is the name of the file(s) is it finding and quarantining?

I'm quite sure what Norton is finding is in System Restore since they did not scan the System Volume Information folder which is for System Restore - this can easily be taken care of but we won't do that just yet as there is no threat unless you use System Restore to restore back to an earlier point. It's just annoying when Norton finds them.

Please download WebRoot SpySweeper from HERE (It's a 2 week trial):

Click the Free Trial link under to "SpySweeper" to download the program.
Install it.
Once the program is installed, it will open.
It will prompt you to update to the latest definitions, click Yes.
Once the definitions are installed, click Sweep Now on the left side.
Click the Start button.
When it's done scanning, click the Next button.
Make sure everything has a check next to it, then click the Next button.
It will remove all of the items found.
Click Session Log in the upper right corner, copy everything in that window.
Click the Summary tab and click Finish.
Paste the contents of the session log you copied into your next reply.

First, download and install CleanUp!

Open Cleanup! by double-clicking the icon on your desktop (or from the Start > All Programs menu).
Set the program up as follows:
Click "Options..."
Move the arrow down to "Custom CleanUp!"
Put a check next to the following (Make sure nothing else is checked!):

Empty Recycle Bins
Delete Cookies
Delete Prefetch files
Cleanup! All Users

Click OK
Press the CleanUp! button to start the program.

It may ask you to reboot at the end, if it does go ahead and reboot.

Then, please run this online virus scan:
ActiveScan

Copy the results of the ActiveScan and paste them here along with a new HiJackThis log.

* Run Killbox.exe.

* Select "Delete on Reboot".

* Copy the file names below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them then press CTRL + C

After your computer reboots, please post a new HiJackThis log and let me know what kind of problems you're still having (if any...)
