Allright lets see if this will fix the themes problem!

Download the Luna theme at
http://users.pandora...patchy/luna.zip

Unzip it(right click the luna.zip and select extract all) and MOVE the luna.msstyles which is present in that folder you unzipped to this folder:

C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes\Luna

Run the Hoster again, heres the link if you need it!
http://www.funkytoad...load/hoster.zip

Unzip and Extract All Files

Press "Restore Original Hosts" and press "OK"

Exit Program

Please RIGHT-CLICK HERE to download Silent Runner's.
  • Save it to the desktop.
  • Run Silent Runner's by doubleclicking the "Silent Runners" icon on your desktop.
  • You will receive a prompt:
    • Do you want to skip supplementary searches?
      click NO
  • You will see a text file appear on the desktop - it's not done, let it run (it won't appear to be doing anything!)
  • Once you receive the prompt All Done!, open the text file on the desktop, copy that entire log, and paste it here.
*NOTE* If you receive any warning message about scripts, please choose to allow the script to run.

Now go into Safe Mode and Scan the System with WinPFind again!

Restart Normal and Post back with a fresh HijackThis log and the reports from WinPFind and Silent Runners!

Copy the text below to a blank Notepad page and Save it to the desktop as rem.reg but dont run it just yet!

Reboot into SAFE MODE(Tap F8 when restarting)
Here is a link on how to boot into Safe Mode:
http://service1.syma...src=sec_doc_nam

After restarting in Safe Mode,Configure Windows to Show All Hidden Files and Folders Here is a link to help with that:
http://www.bleepingc...torial=62#winxp

Once in Safe Mode-> double click rem.reg and allow it to merge into the registry!

Seerch for and delete if found

C:\WINDOWS\pqc5b<- Not sure if its a file or a folder, look for both by that name!

C:\Program Files\winbas12.exe<- File

Now locate C:\WINDOWS\$NtServicePackUninstall$\luna.msstyles

Right Click and Select Copy

Navigate to C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes\Luna

Right Click inside the Luna folder and Select Paste!

This should drop a copy of luna.msstyles into the Luna folder and give you the ability to restore your XP theme!

Here is a link that may assist in restoring your theme
http://www.tgtsoft.com/sb_help/xp.htm

Before Restarting-> Scan once more with WinPFind!

Restart back in Normal Mode and post the WinPFind log with a fresh HijackThis log!

Let me know if you see any Improvements!

WARNING: not all files found by this scanner are bad. Consult with a knowledgable person before proceeding.

If you see a message in the titlebar saying "Not responding..." you can ignore it. Windows somethimes displays this message due to the high volume of disk I/O. As long as the hard disk light is flashing, the program is still working properly.

Well this just gets more interesting by the post!

If you have no use for WildTangent,I suggest removing it from Add\Remove Programs!

Open Pocket Killbox and Copy&Paste these entries into it

C:\WINDOWS\pqc5b
C:\Program Files\winbas12.exe

Place a tick by any of these selections available and Click the Red Circle with the White X in the Middle to Delete!

"Standard File Kill"
"End Explorer Shell while Killing File"
"Unregister .dll before Deleting"
"Deltree(Include Subdirectories)"

Click Start-> Run-> Copy&Paste the Bold text below and Click OK!

regedit /e c:\key.txt "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\MSConfig\startupreg"

Next Copy the text below into a blank notepad page and save it to the desktop as find.bat

dir \winbas12.exe /a h /s > File.txt

When the results pop up Copy&Paste them along with C:\Key.txt into the next post!

OK,I am assuming when you ran the other entry through Killbox it was deleted?

Copy the text below into a blank notepad page and save it to the desktop as bye.reg

REGEDIT4

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\MSConfig\startupreg]

Restart and let me know how the PC is acting and we will see if we can get ya run a bit swifter!

OK,lets get to trimming things up a bit!

Go to Add\Remove Programs and remove Ewido if you havent allready!

Have HijackThis fix these entries

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [iTunesHelper] C:\Documents and Settings\katelyn\Desktop\NoNsEnSe\iTunesHelper.exe

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe" -atboottime

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [WildTangent CDA] RUNDLL32.exe "C:\Program Files\WildTangent\Apps\CDA\cdaEngine0400.dll",cdaEngineMain

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [RealTray] C:\Program Files\Real\RealPlayer\RealPlay.exe SYSTEMBOOTHIDEPLAYER

I want you to open Msconfig and click the Startup tab!

Now I want you to look at each entry there that has a checkmark by it!

You will find out about the only thing you really need at Startup is the Antivirus Software entries

Its a simple trial and error test, you disable and renable these entries as you please until you have reduced the number of programs that startup with windows to a bare minimum!

Next I want you to try another Online Scan here
http://uk.trendmicro...call_launch.php

Let me know if the scan runs and if it locates anything at all!
