Hello!
Are there any updates/patches for it you haven't applied?

You may also want to run an online virus scanner such as Housecall (see my signature for the link). If it find some stuff, it may be a wise idea for you to post a HijackThis log in the Malware Removal forum.

Hi krabpeople...

Please download System Spec...run it, and post (or attach) a log to this thread. This will give us your system specifications.

Also, please download Speed Fan, install it, and run it to monitor voltages and temperatures.

Are you running any Norton applications on this machine? How about Zone Alarm?

Your runtime error may be caused by Google toolbar, your shutdown problem may be caused by Windows Automatic Updates.

krabpeople...

With the Speed Fan application what we need to watch are the voltages in the lower left corner. These shouldn't vary much more than (+/-) 1/10th of a volt. And the top 2 temperature readings (Temp1 and Temp2)...these should stay somewhere around 30 to 35 degrees C (Don't worry if your machine is slightly above or below...temps will vary from machine to machine, but you should be able to see the kind of temperature spike that leads to a shutdown).

+5VSB 5.43V
VBAT: 1.02V

You CPU temp looks good, but you need to keep an eye on the voltages...particularly the +12v (it's pretty low at 11.19v). Watch for fluctuations...this would indicate a Power Supply that's on it's way out.

Download MEMTEST, extract it, and run it. This will test the reliability of your RAM memory. Be sure to follow the instructions.

What does that mean if a power supply is going out? I've noticed that my cpu is really loading up too using 100% at times while playing world of warcraft however it never used to be a problem ...anyways what would I do about the power supply problem?
