Hello, I just purchased my company laptop for a small fee for my personal use. Currently the laptop is configured to prompt for Networking passwords, etc upon startup. The domain is also "owned" by the company so my rights are not as free as you would think considering I am the admin of the box. What I want to do basically is reinstall Windows XP and have all software associated with the laptop removed. I will then reinstall my own software etc. I know this sounds easy but I think years ago I tried to do the same thing to a PC and ran into problems because the CD ROM drive was erased or some such nonsense. In any event I defer to any better ideas. Basically I want a laptop running nothing but Windows, all Networking and other doodads from my firm eradicated.

Ideas?

TIA

just put your xp cd in the cd rom and set your bios to boot from the cd, then follow the instructions on the screen for formatting the drive and installing windows.. you will probably have to get some drivers for your hardware so it might be advantagious to download everest home on the machine and print a report of your hardware
