Hello,

First of all, download and use this AIMfix:
http://www.jayloden.com/aimfix.htm

Close all open programs, including AIM and doubleclick AIMfix.exe
This will delete related files and related entries in the registry.

Reboot afterwards.

After reboot..

Please download LQfix.exe and save it to your desktop.
  • Double-Click LQfix.exe and click Next > Next > Install.
  • Leave the default settings, if you change them, the fix will Fail!
  • You need an active internetconnection, so make sure your you're not blocking any connection now.
  • Now make sure the "Launch LQfix" box is checked.
  • Click the Finish button, after clicking the Finish button the fix will start.
  • Follow the on-screen prompts.
  • Your system will reboot afterwards.
  • Please be patient after the reboot, there is a script running in the background that needs to complete.
Then do a scan with HJT and post a new log by using Add Reply

Hello, yes, things improved, but not done yet. :tazz:

It's better to print out the next instructions or save it in notepad, because you also have to work in safe mode without networking support, so this page wouldn't be available then.
It is also important you don't miss a step and perform everything in the right order!!

Please go to start > control panel > software > add/remove Programs and look if Freeprod Toolbar is present and uninstall it.

* Please set your system to show all files; please see here if you're unsure how to do this.

* Start HijackThis, close all open windows leaving only HijackThis running. Place a check against each of the following:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer,SearchURL = http://www.sitesearc...ral.com/sp2.php
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://www.type2find.com/sp2.php
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://www.type2find.com/sp2.php
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Windoxs Update Center] yrt.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [Windoxs Update Center] yrt.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [autoexec] C:\WINDOWS\XBLKg free trialcard.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Windoxs Update Center] yrt.exe
O9 - Extra button: Freeprod Toolbar - {77FBF9B8-1D37-4FF2-9CED-192D8E3ABA6F} - C:\Program Files\Freeprod Toolbar\freeprod.dll
O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: Freeprod Toolbar - {77FBF9B8-1D37-4FF2-9CED-192D8E3ABA6F} - C:\Program Files\Freeprod Toolbar\freeprod.dll
O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {CD67F990-D8E9-11d2-98FE-00C0F0318AFE} - (no file)

* Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.

* Reboot into Safe Mode`: ( without networking support !)
°To get into the Safe mode as the computer is booting press and hold your "F8 Key". Use your arrow keys to move to "Safe Mode" and press your Enter key.

* Using Windows Explorer, locate the following files/folders, and delete them if still present:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\yrt.exe
C:\Program Files\Freeprod Toolbar <== folder

* Reboot your system back to normal mode.

I want to know what next is, so can you go to next site:
http://virusscan.jotti.org/

On top you'll find: File to upload and scan.
Now browse to the next file:

C:\WINDOWS\XBLKg free trialcard.exe

Click submit and let it scan.
Post the results in your next reply together with a new hijackthislog.

If you had any problems with deleting files or noticed any other problems during your fix, let me also know in your next reply.

Okay, I deleted that file. So should I scan my computer with HJT again and show you the logs or no? Oh and now there are ghost files (files that you can see straight through), and I don't know what they are but um whats the next step?

Hi, don't tough those 'ghost files' as you call it. That are hidden files but won't harm. You see them now because I asked you to unhide your files and folders.

Did you perform my steps as I asked you? Deleted the other file and folder in safe mode?

C:\WINDOWS\system32\yrt.exe
C:\Program Files\Freeprod Toolbar <== folder

Yes, please post a new hijackthislog (I thought I already asked you this when I gave you the fix though..)

Hi, well, you did a great job.

Just check and fix next entry in hijackthis:

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [autoexec] C:\WINDOWS\XBLKg free trialcard.exe

No need to post a new hijackthislog, because I know after checking and fixing that line, it must be gone.

Then hide your folders and files again in the opposite way you made them unhidden.

How are things running now?
