Hi. Random reboots are usually caused by heat, memory, driver issues or the power supply. You need to examine each possible cause to rule it out or fix it. Make sure all of your fans are working and clean. Test the memory (http://www.memtest.org/). Use the event log to check for possible clues for driver issues. Go to start, my computer, right click manage and view the event log. Look at the ones with a red x at the time of the reboot. Right click on those, properites for details. You can also send a report to M$ and view their knowledge base for possbile fix. And finally, does your power supply provide enough power for your system during heavy draw, such as gaming? A good resource for examining this is at http://www.hardforum...isplay.php?f=93

That error usually indicates a bad driver or software thats not compatible with XP, so if you recently added any software try and remove it to see if it helps.
If you recently added any new hardware update the driver for it by going to the manufactuers website and finding the latest driver.
If you did not add anything recently then you should look for updated drivers for all your hardware, I would start with the video card as you mentioned it does it in games.

This gives us a clue to whats going on. First make sure you have the latest directx version 9.0c I believe.
Get the latest driver for your video card
Then get http://drivercleaner and remove any drivers related to video.
Then reboot and install the latest driver and try the bench marks again.

Your welcome, thats good news and I think the restarts should go away as well because you can run/complete the bench mark.
I thought this was a messed up driver all along.
Good luck Rick

What is your idle temp? normally when a cpu goes from idle to full load the temp will rise 5c to 10c so if you have a good idle temp say around 40c to 42c you are good.
List all the temps you can like the video card or system if its avilable.
List your voltages from bios, 12v 3.3 and 5v for now may need others later
List your full system specs, mobo, cpu, ram and psu and we can go from there.
After I see the specs we can download some programs to check the ram and other components
