XP Hangs

Hi
My screens hang, have avast installed+ms-anti spyware+spybot.Am Using windows xp home (legal)..all updates done.

Why is this prob happening n how do i resolve it?

Hi iccemfisa...Welcome to G2G!

"Hanging" can be caused by many things including malware as Emery Herman suggested. We'll need a little more information to effectively troubleshoot this problem.

Please download System Spec...run it, and post (or attach) a log to this thread. This will give us your system specifications. Also, please download Speed Fan, install it, and run it to monitor power supply voltages and CPU temperature.

I don't think it's just me, but there is no screenshot attached to iccemfisa's post. Also, when does XP hang? What were you doing at the time of the hang? Are the hangs random or do they occur at a specific time, like say when you are shutting down your computer? Let us know this along with the report from System Spec that wannabe1 asked you to download and run.
