Hey, That Drwatson crap showed up on my PC this morning, I kinda wanna know where it came from, but decided that getting rid of it was more important... I came to your website for help and, you haven't led me wrong so far. I downloaded hijack this and ran it, hopefully I don't have to be on the username that has the drwatson postmortem debugger problem, because I can't get on it without the error message popping up. If there are any problems with the way I ran it just let me know what I should do and I'll do it. Appreciate the time and effort. I'll post my log after this.

Dr Watson is a legitimate Windows application. For reasons I don't fully understand, it seems to be triggered much more often on systems with SP2 when they have a malware infection.

Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items, then click fix checked.

Please reboot into safe mode (continually tap the F8 key while your system is starting, select Safe Mode from the menu).
Be sure you're able to view hidden files, and remove the following files in bold (if found):

First off, I would like to thank you for replying to my problem so quickly, I barely had a chance to blink and eye and you were there!! But um... :tazz: I couldn't figure out how to get the computer into safe mode after it rebooted, hitting F8 repeatidly did absolutely nothing. But none-the-less, I tried to log back onto my old name and see if it worked anyway... but the computer did move a little faster, and gave me some false hope as to the problem being solved. Even though I didn't follow thru with the last step, I'm going to run my hijack this log again, and please let me know if there is anything else that shouldn't be there. Thanks!

eh and I meant to say that I logged onto my regular name to see if it worked, but it didn't. And the Dr error message came back. That seems like a semi-important detail to leave out. Thanks again.

ok so... 3 hours later, I went back and decided to mess with this computer contraption again, and I got it to safe mode and deleted those selected items, and took another log, and it looks just like the last one. My computer is running a lot faster, and it takes like a whole 2 extra minutes before the error message comes up, and now the error message doesn't freeze everything right away, just the toolbar at the bottom, and after about a minute everything just kinda... stops working. Yada Yada... the end. ((Shanny Misses her Itunes, lol))

Download a virus scan program and save it.


Please run a free online virus scan here (tick the "Auto Clean" checkbox):
http://housecall.antivirus.com/


Reboot into safe mode (lightly tap F8 when it reboots). Make sure all files are showing.

Kill this process if present in task manager - hit ctrl>alt>delete.

crsl.exe

Find the file and delete it.

Empty out your temp. files, reboot and post a newlog.
