Sygate and Zone Alarm both make a good firewall with a free version for the home user..

As for the "beep" sound, go into Device manager and check if there are any yellow or red marks beside anything..

Device manager being? I went into my control pannel, sounds, speech, and audio deviced, and all of the drop down bars where it would say what you're using are greyed out.

Control Panel>System>Device Manager.. Odds are you will have to go to the Dell website and download and install the soundcard drivers for your system..

K, that brings me to another question. How to I change my darn setup so it my control panel does show that and now like only 9 catagoreys.

On the left side it will have the option to view in "Classic Mode".. Click that..

ARGH, I can't find my drivers and utilites cd, and I know I had it when I first started dealing with this BS!! >_<

Well, as I said earlier.. you can get them from the Dell website and then look for your disk once everything is up and running..
