Glad you are still with us...again, my apologies for that long delay. Next time if you don't get a reply from me for over one day even, PM me or bump your post just in case I missed it again :tazz:

We have a newer fix for this pesty critter which should be easier for both of us :)

Download VirtumundoBeGone http://secured2k.hom...mundoBeGone.exe and save it on your desktop. Then boot into Safe Mode and run VirtumundoBeGone. When it's done, boot back to Normal Mode and post the log created here along with a new HijackThis log.

If Safe Mode gives you problems again, boot into Safe Mode with Networking instead. That should work.

well thanks for the reply, no worries.... i actually just got series 7 & 66 lisenced as well as life, health and variable annuities, and my wisdom teeth pulled...so i have been busy with that and teh holidays.
so, when i ran the exe file you told me to dl....by the way i booted is safe mode with nt and just to try i did safe mode only(this time it worked-wierd)... well i did it both times and i got a message saying my computer is setup to restart on stop error so click ok or hold down the power button for 5 seconds.... i clicked ok and my computer rebooted.

first thing that poped up was winfixer 2006, lol

oh and just to refresh i still have vundofix and ewido and evrything else we tried before, just incase you need to knwo...if we dont need it should i delete em?

Where is the VirtuMundoBeGone log file?

Go to Start->Run and type in regedit and hit OK. Go to File->Export and save the registry somewhere as a backup. Close the Registry Editor now. Go to Start->Run and type in notepad and hit OK. Then copy and paste the following into Notepad:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
"NI.UWFX6_0001_N57M0912"=-

Save the file as "delete.reg". Make sure to save it with the quotes. Close Notepad. Double click on the delete.reg file and choose Yes to merge/add it to the registry. You may delete the file afterwards.

Go to Start->Run and type in regsvr32 /u occache.dll and hit OK.

Delete this file -> C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\UWFX6_0001_N57M0912NetInstaller.exe

Go to Start->Run and type in regsvr32 occache.dll and hit OK.

Check and fix this in HijackThis if found:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [NI.UWFX6_0001_N57M0912] "C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\UWFX6_0001_N57M0912NetInstaller.exe" -nag

Restart and post a new HijackThis log.

I want you to upload this file (C:\WINDOWS\713xRMTMon.exe) to http://virusscan.jotti.org and report back what it found.

first i would like to say thanks again. i also want to say that i never mentioned but there are two user with seperate logins on thsi computer... so do i have to do everything you tell me to do 2wice????

ok well in regards to your last instructions:
1> i dont know where the virtumundo file is ...how do i get it?
2> hijackthis did not find 04 - hklm\..\Run: [NI.UWFX6_0001....... instructions said if found
3>i dont rememebr if i deleted C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded program files\UWFX6..... ,but i looked it up after the hjt file and did restart>>> i didnt find anything anyways

is my remote control file for my pcmcia card i just got that allows xbox,ps2, cable tv on my labtop. i checked it and its ok!

The VirtumundoBeGone log should either be in the folder you created for it or in C: drive. If you can't find it, that's ok...

Do you have problems in the other 2 user accounts? Usually there is no need to do anything to the other accounts in the same computer...usually these hijackings will be for all accounts and stored in the registry where HijackThis can find it...and we can remove it :tazz:

Your log is clean.

To help prevent future spyware installations/infections, please read the Anti-Spyware Tutorial and use the tools provided.

Are there any problems now? If not, you should be set to go.
