for the past 2 weeks now ive been trying to remove this trojan but to no avail.ive tried almost every trojan remover and spyware remover(cwshredder,spyware doctor,killbox etc)and most of them say its been removed yet after rebooting its still there,could you please have a look at my hjs logs as im at wits end now as the winfixer popups are becoming more frequent,thanks.

Hi dirtman1 and welcome to the Geeks to Go Forums.

My name is Trevuren and I will be helping you with your log.

1. If you haven't logged in go to Geeks to Go and do so. Then proceed to item a.

If you already have logged in, go directly to item a.

Click on My Controls at the top right hand corner of the window.
In the left hand column, click "View Topics"
If you click on the title of your post, you will be taken there

2. Also, while at the My Controls page, check the box to the right of your post and then scroll down.
.Where it says "unsubscribe" click the pull-down menu and select "immediate email notification"

3. Please DELETE your current HJT program from its present location.

4. Download and run the following HijackThis autoinstall program from Here . Please choose the default location of C:\Program Files\ as the destination. HJT needs to be in its own folder so that the program itself isn't deleted by accident. Having the backups could be VITAL to restoring your system if something went wrong in the FIX process!

Run HijackThis
Click SCAN and SAVE LOG. (a notepad window will open with the log in it when you click Save Log) (Ctrl-A to'select all', Ctrl-C to 'copy')
POST the log into this thread using 'Add Reply' (Ctrl-V to 'paste')

DO NOT MAKE ANY CHANGES OR CLICK "FIX CHECKED" UNTIL WE CHECK THE LOG, AS MOST OF THE FILES ARE LEGIT AND VITAL TO THE FUNCTION OF YOUR COMPUTER

Please print these instructions out for use in Safe Mode.

Also note, one must be either logged in under the Administrator account or have administrator privileges to be able to successfully complete these procedures

1. Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.

Double-click VundoFix.exe to extract the files
This will create a VundoFix folder on your desktop.
After the files are extracted, please REBOOT your computer into Safe Mode.

You can do this by restarting your computer and continually tapping the F8 key until a menu appears. Use your up arrow key to highlight Safe Mode then hit enter.
Once in safe mode open the VundoFix folder and doubleclick on KillVundo.bat
You will first be presented with a warning and a list of forums to seek help at.
it should look like this

By pressing enter you agree that you are using this at your own risk
Please seek assistance at one of the following forums:

At this point press enter one time.

Type in the filepath as instructed by the forum staff
Then Press Enter, Then F6, Then Enter Again to continue with the fix.
At this point please type the following file path (make sure to enter it exactly as below
!):
- C:\WINDOWS\system32\mlljh.dll
Press Enter, then press the F6 key, then press Enter one more time to continue with the fix.
Next you will see:

Please type in the second filepath as instructed by the forum staff
Then Press Enter, Then F6, Then Enter Again to continue with the fix.
At this point please type the following file path (make sure to enter it exactly as below!):

C:\WINDOWS\system32\hjllm.*
Press Enter, then press the F6 key, then press Enter one more time to continue with the fix.

2. The fix will run then HijackThis will open.

In HiJackThis, please place a check next to the following items and click FIX CHECKED:
- O2 - BHO: MSEvents Object - {6DD0BC06-4719-4BA3-BEBC-FBAE6A448152} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\mlljh.dll
  O20 - Winlogon Notify: mlljh - C:\WINDOWS\system32\mlljh.dll
After you have fixed these items, close Hijackthis and Press any key to Force a reboot of your computer.
Pressing any key will cause a "Blue Screen of Death" this is normal, do not worry!
Once your machine reboots please continue with the instructions below.

3. Download and install CleanUp!

Open Cleanup! by double-clicking the icon on your desktop (or from the Start > All Programs menu).
Set the program up as follows:
Click "Options..."
Move the arrow down to "Custom CleanUp!"
Put a check next to the following (Make sure nothing else is checked!):
Empty Recycle Bins
Delete Cookies
Delete Prefetch files
Cleanup! All Users

[*]Click OK
[*]Press the CleanUp! button to start the program.
[*]It may ask you to reboot at the end, click NO.
[/list]4. Please run this online virus scan: ActiveScan
Copy the results of the ActiveScan and paste them here along with a new HiJackThis log and the vundofix.txt file from the vundofix folder into this topic.

just did the first bit of your earlier post but it seems to stick on a black screen with safe mode in each corner.Before that it gave me options of entering under adminastrator or under me,ive tried both but in both cases the black screen follows?????

Try this:

To use the System Configuration Utility to start Windows XP in Safe mode

Close all open programs.
Click Start > Run.
In the Run dialog box, type msconfig and then click OK.
In the System Configuration Utility, on the BOOT.INI tab, check /SAFEBOOT.
Click OK.
When you are asked to restart the computer, click Restart
The computer restarts in Safe mode. (This can take several minutes.)

When you are finished working in Safe mode, use the System Configuration Utility to start Windows XP in normal mode.

To use the System Configuration Utility to start Windows XP in normal mode

Finish what you need to do in Safe mode.
In the section "To use the System Configuration Utility to start Windows XP" above, repeat steps 1-3 (inclusively).
But in step 4, uncheck /SAFEBOOT.
Close all programs, and restart the computer.

ive completed your instructions from the earlier post ,there was a few things that didnt happen the hjs log didnt automatically open after typing in the filepath i manually opened it ,also the blue screen of death didnt appear and i also had to restart it manually as pressing any key just made a sound and didnt reboot.ive done a scan with the cwshredder and it says the vx remains???anyway here are the results you requested..

hello once again trevuran,the problem i was having yesterday was i hadnt written down the second filepath as i havent got a printer you see and for some reason i missed it out,but ive done everything you said today and first of all it came up fatal errorc000021a system error so i rebooted ran clean up and then ran cwshredder and for the 1st time in a fortnight no look2me was present....AMAZING ..i guess that means its worked !!!
if you could have a quick look at these new hjs logs just to see if im all clear and any tips how to protect myself against this in future i have microsoft anti-spyware and sygate firewall running but anything better?

I will be providing you with some recommendations once your system is totally clean.

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order in which they are mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes.

First we need to make all files and folders VISIBLE:
- Go to start>control panel>folder options>view (tab)
- Choose to "show hidden files and folders,"
- Uncheck the "hide protected operating system files" and the "hide extensions for know file types" boxes.
- Close the window with ok
Please RUN HijackThis.
. Click the SCAN button to produce a log.

Now with all the items selected, and all windows closed except for HJT, delete them by clicking the FIX checked button. Close the HijackThis window.
Reboot Your System in Safe Mode

How to use the F8 method to Start Your Computer in Safe Mode
- Restart the computer.
- As soon as BIOS is loaded begin tapping the F8 key until the Advanced Options menu appears.
- Use the arrow keys to select the Safe mode menu item
- Press Enter.
Using Windows Explorer, locate the following files/folders, and DELETE them (if they are present):

C:\Program Files\MyWaySA<=== Folder
Exit Explorer, and REBOOT BACK INTO NORMAL MODE
Finally, RUN Hijackthis again and produce a new HJT log. Post it in the forum so we can check how everything looks now.

I need to disable your Microsoft AntiSpyware Real-time Protection as it may interfere with the fixes.

Open Microsoft AntiSpyware.
Click on Options, Settings.
In the left pane, click on Real-time Protection.
Under Startup Options uncheck: Enable the Microsoft AntiSpyware Security Agents on startup (recommended).
Under Real-time spyware threat protection uncheck: Enable real-time spyware threat protection (recommended).
After you uncheck these, click on the Save button and close Microsoft AntiSpyware.
Right click on the Microsoft AntiSpyware icon on the taskbar and select Shutdown Microsoft AntiSpyware

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order in which they are mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes.

First we need to make all files and folders VISIBLE:
- Go to start>control panel>folder options>view (tab)
- Choose to "show hidden files and folders,"
- Uncheck the "hide protected operating system files" and the "hide extensions for know file types" boxes.
- Close the window with ok
Please RUN HijackThis.

Now with all the items selected, and all windows closed except for HJT, delete them by clicking the FIX checked button. Close the HijackThis window.
Reboot Your System in Safe Mode

How to use the F8 method to Start Your Computer in Safe Mode
- Restart the computer.
- As soon as BIOS is loaded begin tapping the F8 key until the Advanced Options menu appears.
- Use the arrow keys to select the Safe mode menu item
- Press Enter.
Using Windows Explorer, locate the following files/folders, and DELETE them (if they are present):

C:\Program Files\MyWaySA<===Folder and all its content
Exit Explorer, and REBOOT BACK INTO NORMAL MODE
Finally, RUN Hijackthis again and produce a new HJT log. Post it in the forum so we can check how everything looks now.
